Which is more dangerous : Covid or the Covid vaccines?

Which is more dangerous? Covid or the Covid vaccines?

  • Covid

  • Covid vaccines

Results are only viewable after voting.
You actually do NOT know that. And the fact that you insist you know this is BS. Not a single one of us will know that for years. And that includes you. Prove otherwise.
Yeah, we do know that there almost certainly are no horrible long-term effects for this vaccine, because there have been no horrible long-term effects for other vaccines.

We don't have to have an answer to this question. Vaccines are nothing new. mRNA tech didn't suddenly spring out of the head of trump back in 1920.

The global trial indicates - remember, in the scientific world, there's always a bit of uncertainty - that there are no short-term or long-term serious / significant / oh-my-god-that's-terrible side effects attached to the covid-19 vaccines.

But, hey, I get it....you're anti-science, anti-facts, anti-expert, and saving lives doesn't seem to be an overwhelming priority, soooooooooo.....gloom and doom re imagined horrible side effects it is.

I just hope you don't infect others with your suspicions.
And we will not know the actual outcome for many years.
I actually hope others start asking questions. Question are a good thing.

Actually it is far too early to know the long term effects of the covid vaccination.

We know actual outcomes for other vaccines.

We know there are no short-term horrible outcomes for this particular one.

I have no idea why you want to believe - or is it you hope? - the covid-19 vaccines will make all of us flesh-eating zombies, or induce global sterility, or some such drive-in-theater-B-movie scenario, but there are you. Perhaps you should take up a hobby. Quilting, knitting, crocheting, beekeeping (that would actually help others!), reading books, listening to NPR, watching PBS, volunteering at homeless shelters - oops, forget that, you aren't and won't be fully-vaccinated - sending greeting cards to shut-ins at nursing homes....

We do not know the outcome from this vaccination was it is far to early.
And by the way….I am still waiting for you to respond to this:
So YOU said “You proclaim you've not taken any shot save the very first one”. I never ever said such a thing, and I am totally open to you showing where I ever made such a statement. You went on to insult my age etc after that. So…..show where I ever said such a thing. Or apologize please.

Your words:
“You proclaim you've not taken any shot save the very first one, even though you know covid-19 still kills Americans, still induces long-covid.”

You actually do NOT know that. And the fact that you insist you know this is BS. Not a single one of us will know that for years. And that includes you. Prove otherwise.
You prove that there are significant side effects that are delayed in appearance for years. It’s already been 4 1/2 years since the Covid vaccines were introduced. How long should we wait for the boogeyman to appear?
I know that the sun has always risen in the east. Rational people can conclude that the sun will always rise in the east. Similarly since there has never been a single vaccine in history whereby there were significant side effects not discovered for years rational people conclude that there is a virtual certainty that the covid vaccine isn’t going to be the first. Furthermore, if you knew anything about how the vaccine works you’d possibly understand why there won’t be delayed long term side effects. I would give you more details but that would be a waste of my time. MAGATS prefer to believe CTs, quacks, and unreliable news outlets rather than facts.
Believe what you want. No skin off my back.
And I won’t waste any more time explaining this to you.

Do you not see how that paragraph absolutely folds up under some critical thinking?

I think the fact that the COVID vaccine is based on novel genetic tech makes it a little different than other vaccines.

And more and more reputable sources are publishing thorough studies that show that some of our first thoughts about what may or may not have been going on were misguided.

That's a pretty good one from last year, but it's kind of dense.

Here's one interesting quote from it.

The mRNA-LNP COVID-19 vaccines, based on early analysis of the clinical trial data, were deemed safe and effective across demographics (45, 46). However, recent peer-reviewed research studies, a wide variety of continuously increasing case reports, and publicly available adverse events databases cast doubts on the safety and effectiveness of these products.

And take note of where this research is published. It's not like we're talking about a zerohedge article.

You truly believe all the LONG term impacts will be in under five years? Apparently you struggle with the concept of “long term” impacts. I will believe “what I want”. And I don’t need your permission to do so. The rest of your post is just silliness. But I think you already know that.

You asked for me to provide the post number clarifying that you said what you DID say. You were wrong. And I would think you would admit that.

@TamleeB
I have had covid and the first covid shot. I will never ever ever ever get another covid shot.
;)

I'm old as the hills, and I have some age-related memory issues.

But I'm still very detail-oriented.

Now, @TamleeB, you said something about an apology?

Yes….I had covid and the first shot. And I will never ever get another. You mentioned I had not had any shots….and I did go back and read the “save for the first one”. You are correct. I did miss the “save for the first one, and I apologize.

Thank you.

It's easy to lose track of what has been said. I've done it myself many times.

In an effort to put this matter to rest, I though a simple poll on which was more dangerous would be a good way to spurr discussion.

What say ye, good folks DP? Are the covid vaccines more dangerous than covid? Is covid more dangerous than the covid vaccines?

Please bring your sources.

😅

I almost ****ing DIED first time I caught it.
It was February 2020, no clear knowledge at the hospital of what I even HAD.
No tests, no masks, no nothing. They gave me some asthma puffers and sent me home.
Blood oxygen in the low 70's for three weeks, maybe six hours of sleep in four week's time.
I COULD NOT CATCH MY BREATH.

I got vaccinated EARLY in April 2021, thanks to my status as a VA caregiver and my wife got hers early too.
Caught it a second time in August 2022, already fully vaccinated plus I was given PAXLOVID.

Result: Three days of the sniffles and a lot of sleep.

Pfizer trust us.webp

Glad you are still here and trusting modern medicine, CS!

From what I've read, you were lucky to have survived that first go-around with covid-19.

(Glad you did make it through.)

Can you do better than that?
Oh, don't encourage them. That's more than enough.

I had it in February '20 too. Glad to hear you recovered. Man, that was a freaking hum dinger. I got it again later and it was nothing compared to that first time.

There is after it.

For a while yes, but it's not lifetime.
Also, let's be clear about this:

Nobody ever said that these vaccines can prevent you from catching COVID.
Scientists were HOPING that one of the vaccines might offer "sterilizing immunity" (aka U=U --- undetectable equals untransmissible) but they gave up that expectation early on and said so.

So yes, you can still catch COVID if you are vaccinated but there is less chance you will end up hospitalized or worse, DEAD, if you are vaccinated.
We saw this happen in 1918, we saw it happen all over again in 2021, the fact is, vaccines help.
No medicine is perfect and no one makes 100 percent guarantees of absolute safety across the board, that is impossible.

But the fact is, the vaccines help a lot for the overwhelming majority.
We are bombarded with pharmaceutical advertisements all day long for medications that contain some incredibly dire black box warnings about dangerous risks and side effects and people don't think twice about using these medications.
But just SAY the WORD "VACCINE" and suddenly idiots all over the world lose their shit.

Oh the irony, oh the hypocrisy, oh the idiocy.
