You may have noticed that in those threads where people don't decide they want to debate or argue with me about things, I generally make my point and move on. It's when people decide they're going to argue with me, try to change my mind or prove me wrong that this happens. Maybe you folks ought to see some sort of partern in that.

I have some quite unconventional views myself on certain things and I don't make it my duty to preach them to others. There is a need to yell back when the entire world around you is trying to wear you down and force you to accept their viewpoint instead of your own. When the pressure to conform is so high that without some means to vent it, only worse things can happen. I've had to change banks three times in the last 2 years because of a lack of male tellers at branches. I turned down a very nice job promotion about 5 years ago because I would have had to work for a female boss. I chose not to purchase a firearm I'm really intereseted in two weeks ago because there was no male salesperson in the shop when I went by. It's stuff like that which just wears away at you on a daily basis.

If people would simply look at me and say... "Okay. That's odd/different/wrong" and move on, there would be no problem. The problem comes when society/individuals decide they're going to "educate" or "correct" me and bring me over to their side of things. That pisses me off to no end, and brings about the response that you see here.

That's not the point, though. The point is that when you live your life in a way that most people can't relate to and when you make it a point to advertise it, you shouldn't be surprised at the reaction you get. People like conformity. It unsettles them when someone deviates from the norm. Anyway, in Tigger's situation, I don't wonder so much about how he got to that point, because he's the "winner" in the scenario. I'm more curious about how a woman in the 21st century came to agree with his worldview. I'm not judging her in any way. I'm just more curious about what led her to this point.
