Walking dead is Back

It's the million dollar question.

Previously, Amy died in the precise manner that you describe - apparently the vast majority of walkers were live people who were killed and subsequently resurrected as walkers by the virus

Perhaps the virus has mutated to infect everyone without killing them immediately, but turns them into walkers immediately after death. Although I'm curious to know why Dale didn't rise as a walker, perhaps because he got shot in the head.
It's anybody's guess right now. I have to wonder though if what Jenner whispered was about that for one reason, Rick didn't know Shane was coming back apparently because had he known he would have destroyed the brain and Carl wouldn't have been a factor.

Also there were clues in "18 Miles Out" where there were cop/security guard walkers who did not have bite marks. Maybe it was a bit of foreshadowing.

Hmm. Don't know, it's definitely not a good sign that Randall and Shane came back from non-bites, and also not a good sign from the two uniforms that weren't bitten. As well the walkers seem to be congregating more and more which is definitely not good, next season should be very interesting indeed, too bad this one is down to the last episode.

Did Karl redem himself this episode? Will anyone miss Shane? Are the rising without having to ever been bitten?
Yep...looks like the zombie virus is starting to mutate a bit...NOW what?

I really dont like the next episode 'spoiler'. Why spend the final 5 minutes building the suspense of the zombie horde just over the hill...only to show...heh...no worries...they made it back to the house...

I've seen enough zombie movies to know that's not necessarily a good thing.

I'm not happy that the season is over again, already. It seems like it just started. :(
Well, it could have been worse. Had there not been a mid-season break the show would have been over a month or so ago. I did not understand that move until now, as much as it sucks having to go back into wait mode after next week it would have been worse without the break. Ah well, when re-runs aren't enough you know you have a fantastic series.

That's kind of what I was telling my daughter last night. We were watching and all of a sudden I looked at the clock and it was 950pm. We were like, 'WE JUST STARTED WATCHING!!'

I told her that's how you can tell you're really interested in a show.

Just a heads up but next season (3) has 16 episodes, instead of 13.
Sah-WEET. From what I understand even though it's a big budget killer for AMC it's also becoming a huge cash cow so they are getting constantly more sway. There is no arguing the sheer numbers watching, I actually didn't think people would get past the zombie aspect of the show and was pleasantly surprised.

I see tinges of no more room in hell motto coming back to the forefront. I know it's a long-shot given the past decade trend of seeing it as a virus (or rage virus most popularly), but 'tis a good start.

Almost everybody I know watches this show. It's fantastic. I will be talking about it to my kids in the supermarket and somebody in front of me or behind me will chime in and be like, "I LOVE that show!!"

Ah. Great reference from the original Dawn of the Dead, I have a feeling it's a virus but who knows.

I can't just LIKE you for telling me that joyful bit of news.... I'm going to have to have your children to show proper gratitude.

Yeee-haaa!!! 16 more episodes!!!!

It'll be a virus, but I'll be happy if they listen to the radio and some voice says it cryptically. Heck, even having one of the characters do it for a joke.

Although, I'd kill for someone to talk about the Night of the Living Dead with regard to the farm house, making a joke about the movie and my favorite douchebag character: Cooper.

Lori's behavior now.... the little "heart to heart" she had with Shane, thanking him and crying, sympathizing with him, talking about how she realized how much danger they were in and so on....

I think that is what tipped him over the edge to implement his plan to kill Rick.

I think she had half-decided (consciously or unconsciously) that the danger was too high and she needed a more-badass 'alpha male' to guard her and her offspring, and was 'priming the pump' to reclaim Shane if she decided it needed to go that way....

...the bitch.

Yeah, I think so too. Jenner basically said "the French got the closest" to solving it meaning their CDC equivalent so that would indicate infection. Either way anyone in that world is royally screwed.

Makes sense to me. It's been said all along by Kirkman and the show's production staff that the title refers to the living and not the walkers themselves, it's the death of civilized behavior and humanity.

Well, she's gonna get hers sooner or later, assuming the books maintain any validity to the continuing tv storyline.

Let's hope that next season they get a bigger budget for the show, that's why the first half of the season was pretty slow, because they were given a minimal budget and even had to budget camera time indoors and outdoors.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Lori, she set this whole thing up. There's also a darkness brewing in Rick, ever since Lori told him that Shane is a danger. With Dale gone, they have no 'moral compass' anymore, so the group will probably continue to fall apart. Really can't wait until next week.

I agree. I was screaming at the TV - WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? And then I'd look at the family and say WHY DID SHE DO THAT?

I was pretty upset.

I would love a little backstory about the origin of the virus. I love movies that deal with bacteria wiping out the populace (The Stand, Contagion, etc) and they all give you a backstory about how it started.

I did buy the first season at Walmart and found it interesting. I tried to watch the 2nd season, but of course, it has to be on at 10, which is detrimental to my sleep since I have to get up at 3:30 AM to go to work. No, I don't have TIVO. I do have an old VHS recorder, but with a satellite, it must be on that channel, only, which means my wife can't watch anything else on the TV, which pisses her off so I don't even bother to record anything. I stopped watching ths show when the little girl got lost, and they spent forever looking for her. From what I have seen the 2nd season seems to be too slow moving. I tend to like shoot em ups, and this show doesn't have enough of that. I give it thumbs down.

 Slow moving. Zombies. Unintentional humor before morning coffee. SCORE.
