I don't believe you. You hate him but are attempting to take the moral high ground by saying you don't.

you hate the tea party because you think they are racist? are you black or just a guilty white boy? come on get real. people hate the tea party because they want other people to pay more taxes. the only racist thing about the tea party is the perception that since blacks are net tax consumers, anyone who wants to pay less taxes has to be anti black

You should try reading my post again because you seem to have missed some important words.

Well, that's your decision. I suppose debate will be much more interesting if we just start imagining what the other says instead of reading what the other says.

If you talk about my mother like that again we'll have to take this outside!

Heck, whats the point of reading what others say? People like you who claim to vote wrong (so what did you mean to vote for? You think they're predominantly rich, or men?) and then say in the thread something opposite their vote. Gosh Deuce, even I don't do that!

I'll tell you exactly what happened. You were one of the first ones to vote in the poll. You took the OP's word that it was a private poll. When you found out it wasn't and couldn't retract your vote, you started crawfishing when you found out people could see what you voted for.

It takes a real man to just fess up. It took me all of two seconds to understand the poll and since none of the options are what I believe, I didn't vote but c'mon dude, just fess up. You know I'm right about what happened. You've been the one chanting that the leader is racist so what does that imply? I mean dude, you said it yourself. You *accidentally* voted exactly along the lines of what you've spoken of in the past. I'm calling bull**** on this, sorry.

This does have a certain logic to it. hmmm.

Deuce says this:

As for the racists, well, when some people carry around racist signs, some people cheer at those signs, and nobody calls them out on their ****, that is the impression you're going to give. Also, running black tea partiers out of the protests by shouting "ACORN! ACORN!" at them does not boost black recruitment.

Their founders can be found making racist comments about the NAACP or holding a sign with the N-word (misspelled) on it.
Sooooo.
And then tries to say that he "accidentally" voted that they are predominantly racist. Yea, it was one hell of a coincidental accident.

There's a difference between "some tea partiers are racist" and "predominantly" racist.
Tea partiers are disproportionately racist, in my opinion, meaning a higher percentage of them are racist than in the general population. But not a majority. Most of them are just ignorant of history and reality.
You can either take my word for it or end this derail. There's no point in pursuing this further.

Most of them are just ignorant of history and reality.

I think there is a higher percentage of Tea Partiers that know their history and reality than the general population.

An example. People bitch about taxes and then elect democrats and pass bonds.

my mother died a few years ago so I am beyond that. Why would I bash your mother? she's had enough disappointments in her life I suspect.

People bitch about taxes and then elect Republicans too.

But I am sure a good number of them have probably the same grasp of history as most educated people.

The fact is, republicans are less in favor of increasing taxes than the left.

Just a note. Some of those things have a factual answer. We can measure age, race and other demographics. Seeking an opinion on it seems fruitless when we can simply look.

The poll doesn’t include what I believe. I believe that the Republican party is/was/has set up the tea party.

They were originally Ron Paul voters, but they have since largely shifted to mainstream Republican Voters.

Can you link to proof of this please?

Point 1: I started as Ron Paul voters:
The 'tea' in Tea Party has been used as an acronym standing for Taxed Enough Already.[20][21][22][23][24] The Libertarian theme of the "tea party" began with Republican Congressman Ron Paul supporters as a fund raising event during the 2008 presidential primaries to emphasize Paul's fiscal conservatism, which laid the groundwork for the modern-day Tea Party movement. On December 16, 2007, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, Ron Paul supporters raised 6 million dollars in 24 hours in individual donations.[25][26][27][28]

Where are all these racists that we are suppose to speak out against? Where are the bad apples? Don't repeat the same old lies about congressmen being spat on and called the N word. It never happened. Andrew Brietbart was on Fox again tonight. He had collected 4 different camera angles of the whole Nancy Pelosi giant gavel thing walking through the crowd. NOTHING HAPPENED and there were camera phones all over the place. You'd think one capitalist in that crowd would want to cash in on the 100,000 dollar reward for proof it happened. But since it never happened, Brietbart's money is safe. Still the liberals keep lieing over and over again. I heard the same old tired falsehood three or four times today on TV. Why aren't these people held accountable for their lies and why aren't liberals distancing themselves from the liars?
The only racism I've seen is racism againt black conservatives and that comes from the left!
I heard there was a poll that found the tea party to be LESS racist than the general public.

oh my...i'd really like to see that poll.

You don't see the fail in that poll do you?

A lot of us libertarians, would wonder what we should choose.... :ssst:

While there are a lot of libertarians on this forum, in the real world, they tend to have low numbers. Ultimately, while I think a lot of conservatives tend to have libertarian sympathies, moreso than liberals do, they tend to vote as republican.

Results in US Presidential Elections
Year Candidate Popular Votes Percentage
2008 Bob Barr 523,686 0.4%
2004 Michael Badnarik 397,265 0.32%
2000 Harry Browne 384,431 0.4%
1996 Harry Browne 485,759 0.5%
1992 Andre Marrou 290,087 0.3%
1988 Ron Paul 431,750 0.5%
1984 David Bergland 228,111 0.3%
1980 Ed Clark 921,128 1.1%
1976 Roger MacBride 172,553 0.21%
1972 John Hospers 3,674 <0.1%

Libertarians also tend for the most part to have conservative leanings. Less so on the social side, but surely on the fiscal side (actual conservative side, not spend and spend side that initiated this tea party movement.)

What? As a whole, the republicans favor less spending.

I would say that they prefer lower taxes, but every republican administration has seen spending increases.
