Should trans people get to make others leave a public bathroom while they use it?

How? Wouldn't it also be an insult to call a trans person trans?
Because some individuals don't want to be referred to as a "cis" male or female, and would rather be referred to as a male or female.

And no it wouldn't be a insult to call someone trans, only if it is specifically used to insult a trans person.

I just read it. But what caught my attention is this:

"3. It Encourages Cis People to Check Their Privilege"

"Cis" has come to mean, to me, that I will be defined that way regardless of my actual feeling on it or request about.

That's my whole problem with how the term "cis" is used.

Because you're being compared to trans people, nice.

No, and I know you know that's not what I've been saying. You're not stupid so that was just dishonest.

If that's the worst oppression you face in your life, count your goddamned blessings.

My god. :doh

How about we treat trans people like cis people and just call it a day?

I don't mind the term cisgender when actually speaking comparatively about cisgendered and trans.

as an every day term?... nope... no reason for it... man/male.. woman/female, they work just fine.....

That's exactly what my whole problem with the term "cis".

Are you not okay with being called an American? I mean, no one alive today choose the name America. How do you feel about being forced what to call yourself based on your national origin? Isn't it a shame that you didn't get to choose?

Exactly. I wholeheartedly agree.

Agreed.

That goes for both cis people and trans people, though.

Some of y'all are way too focused on what others are doing in public bathrooms.

Maybe I'm weird but when I go to a bathroom, public or private, I am in there to use the bathroom. I've never given much of a thought about what anyone else is doing and furthermore I don't care. I don't care how they are dressed and I don't care whether they use a urinal or sit down in a stall.

I've seen women use the stall in public men's rooms. I've seen women cleaning the other end of a men's public toilet trough I was using. My wife has encountered men in European bathrooms. None of this has resulted in harm to either one of us. We aren't interested in monitoring the bowel and bladder habits of others in public bathrooms.

Cross-dressers, trans-sexuals, LGB people have been using public restrooms since public restrooms were invented. Suddenly people - IN AMERICA - are all concerned about it. I really, really don't understand the obsession.

And i can tell you I'm not the only one. Other very strong supporters of LGBT rights say pretty much the same as I have been. Shoot, take a quick look at the OP of the thread I linked early on and how many "likes" it has.

I have to go for now. Don't let 'em brow beat you into anything. ;)

Huh?

That doesn't have any relation to what I said.

Why not just respect my request instead so I know that you also believe in respecting people you might not agree with. Otherwise, you have no right to demand respect on my part for anyone.

Oh, and if it's not big deal, where's the harm in humoring me. You're definitely not acting as if this is no big deal.

How about you stop being a troll?

You mean by rejecting simple requests we feel silly or not worthy of being respected? Odd thing for you to want.

It shows the absurdity of your objection to the word cis.
No it doesn't. Not in the slightest

And BTW I'm not even objecting to the term "cis" within itself. I really just object to how the term "cis" is applied.

Can I piss on their shoes on my way out?

Or just people. Labels are like walls. While meaning to create a measure of continuity, at the end of the day, all they do is create division. Is the person, by classification, a human being? Then they should be treated decent until they kill someone or some stupid nonsense, ya know? Til then, they're just another person, and who cares who does what in their own home. As for, Well, this is public bathhouse (see what i did there?) we're talking here, then ya know what? When my child goes to the restroom, I go with him. If anyone were to try anything with him, I would deliever them to my Lord. ^.^ But the facts are, I've never met that (insert sexual prefrence here) person, as child molesters come in all forms, and you can't just be like, "well, they don't believe what I believe, so they're dangerous", it's that concept of division that creates the real danger to begin with. Love people as you wish to be loved, and let the chips fall where may. Somewhere, earlier on in this or another thread (i honestly don't remember), someonesaid, "this is all just election distraction issues", and they were right. 100% Why worry about being 16 trillion in debt when the gay boggy man is coming for your children in the public restrooms? e.e Any real parent has the answer to that problem, it's called parenting. Also, teach your child self defense, it takes 5 minutes to turn a child from a victim into an asskicker. Proof? Proof:
