Can you point to a case in which "the courts" have ruled on executive privilege? I can, but you won't like it.

I can point to several. Here is the always excellent SCOTUSblog on the topic: Executive privilege, Congress’ subpoena power, and the courts: A brief overview of a complex topic - SCOTUSblog

What you have is a broad but limited power. Exactly what I have said.

And I always like information, so don't try and assign feelings to me based on your own ignorance.

It begs the question: why are the Democrats so afraid to let the ballot box decide?

The question has an assumed premise

The premise is false because that is not the concern at all

We believe that any man who is unfit for office should not have access to it, period

Thats really nothing but wishful thinking. Unless republican support for Trump starts to fade, hes not going anywhere. And so far, you guys havent convinced a single republican that there is a case for impeachment.

I'd sooner try to convince a Republican that the Earth is not pancake flat...and at the center of the universe.

Ridiculing Trump supporters is a fools errand considering the “anti-Trump” forces are facing a wipe out at the polls. Pretending to know what you truly do not, makes you look weak.

Well, no. Executive privileged is well recognized by the courts. It is not nearly as limitless as Trump has tried to make it, but it does, and will continue, to exist. Mindless hysteria is stupid.

Bold: Opinion, not fact.

Impeachment, even removal isn't going to totally stop that.

Who is our nation made up of?

Elections matter less, liberals are winning the culture wars

The Liberals have won a few battles, but people are quickly growing tired of being told what to do.

By claiming it for every request or oversight.

Every president has done that.

The judicial branch. You should read the constitution.

Oh, so Congress has zero say in the matter? If that's the case, then this is an unconstitutional impeachment because the court hasn't ruled on Trump's abuse executive privilege.

If ridiculing Trump supporters is a "fool's errand" and makes one look weak...I wonder why so many Trump supporters do it every day with their actions.

Probably because he likes to side with Putin against the USA. Most citizens of most countries would consider their leader backing their chief adversary against their own country to be a bad thing. Then we have Trump supporters.

Can you imagine what would have happened to John Kennedy if he had stated he believe the Soviet Union's Kruschev over our CIA? A bipartisan committee would have burned the White House down, and rightfully so.

A photo showing Trump fellating Putin could be released and today's republicans would defend it as just good foreign policy.

Whereas Obama was actually fellating Putin after the election when he had more flexibility to get into even more compromising positions!

National internet poll... = TDS porn that means nothing.

It means that those polled were more in favor of Trump being impeached than not. Whether the number is right or not is meaningless. There are plenty of people "in favor" of impeachment. That in and of itself is meaningful given that in most polls over the past 100 years, impeachment has not been an issue. Polls about impeachment are bad enough even if the number is 20%.

You have an understanding of what 63M voting and probably another 40M non voting citizens in this countries actions are every day of their lives. Talk about a God Complex.

I wonder how JFK would feel if there were a multitude of clerical errors all culminating to the special counsel investigation of a president that did not do what the investigation wrongfully accused him of in the first place? One can not wonder why he might have a lack of confidence with Comey and his clowns?

You talk about Obama fellating Putin but that is all fake. If fake is what you want, let me give you this picture:

Then again, I like to live in reality. As such, I am going to show you 2 pictures below that are real (not fake). You tell me which of these 2 pictures show enough love between the two for fellatio to occur.

or

See what I mean. You cannot even fake something in fantasy, much less in reality.

B-bu-but Obama!

That's how you're going to defend Trump sucking Putin?

If you think that was what was said in my post...I suspect you did not give it much thought...if any.

If you were a naturalized US citizen rather than born here, you would know that the USA is a federal republic, and not a democracy. The idea of a true democracy is a non - starter for the continuance of freedom.

Maybe it's time for you to put away the Mattel Close N' Play record player with the Dennis Prager record on it and acknowledge the fact that NOBODY thinks this is a "true" or "pure" democracy and never did in the first place.
This is a representative democracy, functioning within the framework of a constitutional federal republic. And it operates within the FRAMEWORK because the FRAMERS set it up that way specifically.

Our elections are where democracy functions.
Specifically, we are going through an impeachment right now because someone thought they could screw around with those elections and the very process itself.

So called "true" democracy was experimented with 2500 years ago.
That was pretty much the one and only shot at it on a national level.
When democracy is talked about in present day, it's generally accepted that we're talking about representative democracy, as in "elected representatives" and elected leaders.

Please see my previous post (#100).

If you could gerrymander entire states, then I might be inclined to agree with you. However, if 60% of Americans support Trump's removal from office a couple of months from now, that changes the game. Even in red states, those are ugly numbers and it will make most Republican Senators very nervous. They will start to get cold feet.

And the difference between 55% and 60% IS FIVE POINTS.
It is amusing to see the hardcore Trumpers doing the Baghdad Bob bit as they stare at a five point gap between uncertainty and disaster. The truth is, that disaster began as soon as that number hit forty.
That was four months ago, give or take a couple of weeks.

You're wrong again. People are bigly mad about this coup attempt and you guys will lose seats in 2020.

Only chance of that happening is if Trump is not at the top of the ticket. If he is, he will be an anchor who will sink republicans at every level of government.

In that regard, I hope he is not removed. People need to know there is a price to pay for backing Trump.

It's great fun watching the left cling to these polls as if that is going to save them from what's coming. The lessons of 2016 have obviously not been learned or even contemplated.

from your own ' link. I see you don't even bother to read what you post.

"Executive privilege claims customarily come with an underlying rationale such as national security, protecting internal deliberations or protecting ongoing DOJ investigations," Rozell told CNN in an email. "In this case the President has claimed some 'protective' executive privilege which is entirely too broad and without any precedent (excepting equally broad claims such as President Nixon's that failed the constitutional standard). It seems the President believes he can wall off any and all information or testimony by merely uttering the words 'executive privilege.' "

"I wonder why so many Trump supporters do it every day with their actions."

That is a very generalized statement IMO. If you would have said some Trump supporters, I would have agreed with you. Since we are currently a nation that takes every written or spoken word contextually, I am just pointing out your flaws. When Donald Trump says stupid things, I have no problem when that stupidity is called out. Just calling them as I see them.
