Progressive does not mean ultra-socialist or super-liberal

By what definition? Progressive are self described, of course they are going to think they are ahead of everyone else. They can be just as wrong as those so called Neanderthal conservatives.

Yeah, that is what they like to think. Again, most people think this. :lol: Hell, I think I'm ahead of progressives and I'm sure they think they're ahead of me.

The word "progressive" has been hijacked by uber-liberals. Their politics has completely sullied the word "liberal", so they've glasses it on the rubbish like and hijacked "progressive". They're more Marxist than anything else but they seem embarrassed by that name, even if they're not by that philosophy.

From what I can tell the philosophy that many liberals practice is a combination of many different philosophies all thrown together to make something that amounts to a cluster****. The only goal they have reached is government power and from the looks of it that is all they will ever get. Plenty of good illusions though.

Not really. Remember that making real change for the better is difficult, and most individuals don't have the resources to do so.

The difference is that conservatives generally want to keep things as they are, or go back to some idealized time in the past. I don't think they want to go forward. Do they?

In part. Conservatives... at least in the ideal, not necessarily today's evolved bastardization... aren't necessarily loathe to change, just that when they do advocate change they want to think it through more thoroughly and make sure it's a positive change.

Not all change is good change. Sometimes things are "tried and true" because they're tried and true.

cultural marxism is a creeping influence in modern day life through idiots. it is recognized medical disease, afflicting the stupidest of people first but it is also known to be found in people of intellect who have become fanatics and utopians... and it is a disease that can only be cured by a huge dose of realism or death.

No one believes that all cultures are equally good. Even liberals don't like the Taliban or their cousins in intolerance, right-wing fundamentalist Christians.

It is true that we need to take different cultures into consideration when making or implementing policy or providing education if we want to be effective. It is also true that everyone deserves be considered equal no matter their ethicity/race. There have been many fine, moral, intelligent, high achieving people from every group.

Opposition to bigotry didn't start or end with Marx.

It was one of the first things that came up when I searched Google images for "political spectrum." After you settle down, maybe you can tell me where the OP originator's definition of "progressive" fits on any spectrum. Pick whatever one you want, I really don't care.

There's a good possibility the OP is trying to make a better name for "progressive" by borrowing quality features of other ideologies to try to lend it credit.

A reasonable assessment, if you are fortunate enough to be in a privileged position. But I would argue a 'bent spoke' in that already invented wheel, can cause misery for millions hence, is it not worth looking at the original invention?
