New York Primary Results Thread

Interesting side note. CNN is reporting the it is "near impossible" for Cruz to catch Trump, *but* it is looking more and more like a contested convention as Trump by projection gets close to but not quite 1237.

I am not saying it will happen, but rather it is a possibility, and something I would not imagine out of any other republican. Of course with trumps luck he could pull off new york in the general then lose a bunch of solid red southern states to hillary, either way this election defies conventional logic.

I don't really see much evidence for this being a real possibility. I mean he is loved by New York Republicans, but for example he still only has 160,000 votes right now compared to 560,000 for Clinton. And there have been over 900,000 Democratic votes compared to less than 300,000 for Republicans. Could he do better than Romney? Sure. But I don't think he'll come even slightly close to winning the state. Especially with the big minority make up of New York, almost none of whom are voting in the Republican primary.

only 41% reporting though I think I these media outlets are pulling the trigger juuust a bit early. well on the Dem site early no doubt Trump has the GOP contest hes ahead by 40 points.
Thier analyst was positing Trump losing likely 3, and possibly 4, delegates in Manhattan.

No idea of losses in the statewide districts; Kasich was supposedly looking at good demographics in a few districts.

MSNBC is also calling Kasich 2nd place.

So far from what I can see the only district that has reported full results is Schoharie county and Bernie won that one.

All the NYC boroughs are close to being done.

Yea I figure it that Trump will get for sure within about 100 delegates but that last ~100 I don't know.
Interesting on this NY race though.. It doesn't appear that Cruz is doing to get a single delegate. looks like Kasich is the distant second everywhere.

I agree with their analysis.

I felt WI slipping away from Trump around 10 days before the primary. Without WI, I felt it unlikely he'd pull 1237. I still don't.

And Cruz' eating away at his post primary day delegates is killing him IMO, sealing the deal.

My take, anyway.

If he gets w/i a 100, he has a shot at finding loose delegates for the first vote. Definitely if he's w/i 50.

He also could cut a deal with Kasich or Cruz.

I think he'll fall about a 100 short, IMO. Maybe even a bit more. Sen Cruz has been a master at picking off Trump's delegates.

Bernie now has 41.1% of the vote,
Hillary has 58.9% of the vote.

With almost 70% of the vote tallied and Clinton leading by almost 20% I think its safe to say this was a crushing win for her and another sign that this race is pretty much over for the Democrats.

Edit: CNN has it tabulated as 111 pledged delegates for Clinton to 25 for Sanders at the moment.

Mathematically it was over March 15th. The only ones not on board were the diehard BernieBros.

HUGE WIN FOR TRUMP.

The party now has a very simple choice: support Trump as the presumptive nominee and get behind him or preside over the destruction of the party in a stop Trump movement.

42% have reported so far.

Bernie now has 40.5% of the vote.

Bernie now has 40.7% of the vote.

Hillary has 58.9% of the vote.

Please do not take this negatively, but have you ever considered you might be just a tad bit obsessive?

Don't take that poorly please, I admit I was hammering the results page on google during the hockey game and Deadliest Catch. I just found it amusing, in a kinda big goofy smile kinda way.

Look here for district by district results - just mouseover.

New York Primary Election Results 2016 - The New York Times

Kasich is a very distant second in all but one district where he leads by a gnat's hair. Cruz might not pick up even one bound delegate. He has a 20% threshold to meet and he's not even close. Trump outdid Cruz's Texas win.

I don't take it poorly, I'm not one to be easily offended anyways.

I'm just posting the results as I see them change. But I can stop if it's getting to be a nuisance.

I'd rather preside over the destruction of the party and see what we come up with. Trump's going to lose anyways in the general.

All the NYC boroughs are close to being done.

And now what I see is 9 counties have 100% reporting and of those 9 Bernie is ahead in all of them weird how he is down statewide by the margin he is.

NYC is just that big and populated.
