General 2012 Election Results Discussion Thread

FOX News Calls Obama Wins Ohio and says it's all but over.

And it is over. FOUR MORE YEARS!

The one thing I can say about tonight....the attempts by people on both sides to declare "LANDSLIDE" is shown to be the folly it appeared. Once again, we're going to have a close to solid win...but nothing close to a true "landslide".

To be honest, I don't expect us to see a true landslide for at least 10 to 20 more years because of the polarization of the country currently and the way that'd need to shift to have any hope of doing another landslide.

That's a good point that even though Obama wins we've obviously got a very split country on how to fix things.

CNN now officially accepts re-election for Obama.

What prevented a landslide was Obama's awful debate performance in the first debate. Before that Romney was on a downward spiral due to his gaffles.

Obama's victory was, of course, the inevitable outcome. Nothing surprising about this whatsoever. I knew it all along.

I wonder what all the right wing hacks like conservative and travis that predicted landslides will do now.

That flushing sound is the US going down the drain. Hail to the Communists.

Two billion dollars spent on this election. Don't even talk to me about fiscal conservative.

But we are going to have weeks, if not longer, of gloating about 'mandates' and on and on...

Mandates? not from me. But I do have some people in my sig to visit and take payment. As for you my little pretty, you need to show some love for Nate Silver now after all those posts of Nate hate you made.

It's over...

And a historical moment, as no president has EVER been re-elected with such a high unemployment number. A few more things, like probably the first time a president was re-elected by winning less electoral votes than they won with the first time. And first time a president has been reelected while losing the popular vote.

Probably time to disappear from this site for a while as it's going to be annoying around here for a while, you mod's are gonna have your hands full. ;)

Wonder what those on the left that have always talked about getting rid of the EC will have to say about it now that it seems romney may well keep the popular vote lead.

Reps picks up former Demo Senate seat in Nevada

That was not a Democratic seat in Nevada. That was Republican John Ensign's seat. He had to resign for attempting to bribe his mistress. Dean Heller was appointed, and looks like he wins. Republicans keep the seat they had.

Keep in mind that much more than that was spent on the Superbowl last year, if you consider the sheer amount of spending on behalf of Americans. ;)

Are you saying that Romney is NOT going to win by a landslide?

I heard Obama was going to send the jack-booted thugs out to get our guns tomorrow.

So, now we're stuck with what we've had for the past 2 years. Gridlock and nothing happening. Awesome.
