Fox News says Tammy Duckworth hasn't paid property tax in years

And you believe that means she shouldn’t have to pay property taxes?
I’m interested in testing the depths of your posting depravity so I’ll ask this question. If you had to choose between no legs and no property taxes or having legs and paying property taxes, which would you choose?

(y)(y)(y)(y)

You want to know why?

Disgusting hacks.

That’s exactly what I was coming to post. She doesn’t pay property taxes because she’s a 100% service-connected disabled vet.

Her husband won’t either, after she passes.

I don’t pay property taxes, either. Haven’t in years.

False. According to the State of Illinois, the only veterans entitled to a 100% property tax exemption are those who have a “…service-connected disability of 70% or more..” Duckface needs to pay up.

She lost her ****ing legs, man. The Blackhawk helicopter she was piloting in Iraq was hit by an RPG. She is clearly 100% service-connected disabled.

Are you ****ing kidding me right now?

You know this, right? You just playing, right?

Never said that,

The state cut disabled vets some slack.

Why exclude someone who clearly is disabled from injuries while serving our country.

Why go after Duckworth who is taking advantage of a benefit that a state has agreed to give.

If you lost both your legs serving your country....would you refuse on principle that benefit?

I think a double amputee qualifies for that

Disabled Vets with a disability rating at X% are eligible to not pay property taxes. I think that number may vary by state or even locality.

The VA determines disability ratings and levels.

And you believe that means she shouldn’t have to pay property taxes?
She shouldn't be forced by law to pay taxes that the law says she does not owe. Correct.

Or are you trying to pretend that you were making a moral argument this whole time?

You lied. You got caught. Move on.

What qualifies someone for a disability rating varies from one veteran to another.

Some individuals can have a disability rating that qualifies them from property tax exemptions simply from PTSD with minor and potentially no physical disabilities.

You are not the doctor of these veterans, you have no idea what their personal circumstances are.

Don't give right wing lies a pass like that. This isn't about him not knowing. He knows full well she exceeds the 70% threshold that he brought up himself. He's lying.

Just trolling. That’s all he’s good for.

Why is this still being discussed??
Tammy Duckworth is a 100 percent service connected disabled vet and they do not have to pay property tax on their primary homes.

End of story.

Guys. I implore you: understand that Napoleon does not actually believe there's anything wrong with exemptions for disabled vets. He's not even making an argument. He's doing the same thing he does in literally *EVERY* thread.

He's picking the dumbest and ugliest position he can think of in order to bother people. If you reply, he'll go "yes! I got another! lulz!"

That's it. That's all that's under the hood.

I saw a poll somewhere that internet trolling really is a big hobby, that's of course aside from the people who are astroturfing or keeping their "negative political thread" higher in ranking with constant phony replies, etc.. The kind of mind that engages in that as a regular thing...mind-boggling.

The criteria isn’t merely that the disability be service-connected. It is also that she must be 70% disabled. I don’t see that reconciling with her status as a senator. If shes not too disabled to function as a senator then she’s not too disabled to pay her taxes.

Generally, a disabled veteran isn't limited from working. Of course, reasonable accommodations must be made for them by employers.

Keep opening your mouth and showing how little you know.

You know absolutely nothing about VA disability. I do.

Thanks for playing. Next time, come prepared with more than bullshit you just make up.

I think he’s getting VA disability confused with social security disability.

Did anyone here actually expect Fox News to be honest or even slightly competent?

Fox News says Tammy Duckworth hasn't paid property tax in years

Neither have I.

I think he’s getting VA disability confused with social security disability.

Very possible. There is a different category of VA disability for a veteran disabled so badly that he can't work. I think it pays more than simple 100% disability. The VA disability itself can be a tidy little tax free sum, but it won't generally cover much of a nice standard of living. I think they expect the veteran to work as well as collect their monetary benefits.

And you believe that means she shouldn’t have to pay property taxes?
Doesn't matter what we believe, it matters what the law says.

Legally, she is not required to pay property taxes.

Your opinion is worthless in this matter.

Loss of both legs is considered a 100% disability by the VA. Whether or not a person can or does work is absolutely irrelevant. This is not social security or workman's compensation.
