Fox News says Tammy Duckworth hasn't paid property tax in years

If that is true, why did you lie about her eligibility for the property tax relief? You would have just said that. Instead, you made up a lie.

Right wingers lie about everything.
False. I said I don't believe she has a 70% disability and dont support the exemption.

That’s good that she’s able to do that. At $2,300, she’s not 100%. Sounds like she’s close, though. Maybe 70-80%.

Please thank her for her service. 💐

Let's see. VA Disability diagnostic code 5107 says that if both feet are amputated that the disability rating is 100%.

Do you think show lost BOTH legs while keeping her feet?

My standard of disability, especially in the context of financial breaks, relates to ability to work. You can work with no feet.

You started here:
False. According to the State of Illinois, the only veterans entitled to a 100% property tax exemption are those who have a “…service-connected disability of 70% or more..” Duckface needs to pay up.

Now we're down to: "nuh uh."

She lost her legs in a war that never should have happened. Not on my behalf. I didn’t send her there. She is working with a six figure salary. She should be paying taxes.
The only problem with this is that the Illinois tax code doesn't place any value on your opinion whatsoever.

Sort of like how DP doesn't.

Your standard exists only in your own head.

Nobody cares.

That's what I figured.

But "Your standard" of disability and the reality of disability are not related to ability to work.

Disability is provided not just to replace lost income, it's there to compensate for possible loss of chosen career that you can no longer workin, it's there to also compensate for additional medical expenses the disabled have to deal with outside of work.

Prosthetics,
Wheel Chairs,
Custom Braces and Canes,
Vision assistance,
Hearing Aids,
More frequent medical requirements directly related to the disability,
More frequent medical requirements indirectly related to the disability,
Etc.

My daughter gets something like $2300 or so a month. By itself, that wouldn't be much considering housing costs in many areas. Being tax free does make it comparable to a higher income than it appears, but still she works to provide the sort of living she wants for her and her kids.

What IS her VA disability rating, and has she ever appealed to have it upgraded, which is entirely possible, by the way.

As I previously said, laws can be changed. 🙂 And I don’t care about your opinion.

Generally, a disabled veteran isn't limited from working. Of course, reasonable accommodations must be made for them by employers.

Disabled vets are encouraged to work if possible, and VA provides a lot of help in putting disabled vets together with opportunities.
We get at least three job fair notices a month from VA, detailing tons of jobs open to disabled vets, some even WITH VA itself, of course.

The criteria isn’t merely that the disability be service-connected. It is also that she must be 70% disabled. I don’t see that reconciling with her status as a senator. If shes not too disabled to function as a senator then she’s not too disabled to pay her taxes.
Your gop ilk hates wounded warriors.

Laws can be changed. 🙂

I suggest you're not the least bit interested in taking on the challenge of getting behind a podium and arguing that disabled vets are moochers that don't deserve their benefits, but I can easily imagine you marching around in a MAGA hat screaming about how all disabled vets are mooching leftists on welfare "that you are forced to pay for."

So go tell Illinois you want to change the law to **** veterans over.

I am sure you'll get a positive result.

You have to remember his motivation for posting.

Tell me who in Congress didn't vote to go into Afghanistan. You can name them on one hand.
Duckface was injured in Iraq not Afghanistan and 156 Congress members voted against the authorization. Odd you’re so invested when you don’t even know that.
