Not really. Sweden is socialist to some degree. And so is the United States right now. The US gave up on pure capitalism back in the early 20th century after the ever-increasing exploitation of cheap child labor in factories, and the rise of monopolies.

In fact, there is no developed economy on the planet today that is not a mixed economy with strong socialist elements.
