Biden ends GOP infrastructure talks, starts new negotiations

You do not have a problem watching your own country be destroyed as a sacrifice to the wealthy. The majority of us do not want that.

Majority of Americans favor wealth tax on very rich: Reuters/Ipsos poll

WASHINGTON/NEW YORK (Reuters) - The idea of imposing a wealth tax on the richest Americans has elicited sharply divergent views across a spectrum of politicians, with President Donald Trump branding it socialist and progressive Democratic presidential contenders Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders prominently endorsing it

But it may have broad public support, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll that found nearly two-thirds of respondents agree that the very rich should pay more.
Among the 4,441 respondents to the poll, 64% strongly or somewhat agreed that “the very rich should contribute an extra share of their total wealth each year to support public programs” - the essence of a wealth tax. Results were similar across gender, race and household income. While support among Democrats was stronger, at 77%, a majority of Republicans, 53%, also agreed with the idea.

A wealth tax is levied on an individual’s net worth, such as stocks, bonds and real estate, as well as cash holdings, similar in concept to property taxes. It is separate from an income tax, which applies to wages, interest and dividends, among other sources.

Especially those who don't pay FIT it is easy to tell someone else what to pay, isn't it

Is that what your parents taught you to have class envy and jealousy? How has any rich person affected you? It isn't surprising that people who aren't paying any FIT don't have a problem with raising the taxes on those who do pay the taxes. You like far too many have no idea who pays taxes and do nothing but promote class envy, jealousy and hate

I have no idea. I commented on the idiotic post of someone claiming this was karma. It's petty to do this for karma. The smart and non-petty people know that.

Well, that's why I'm asking tres, what are your thoughts about Pelosi and Schumer refusing to even talk with Trump on things they could have agreed on?

They tried it early on .. and realized what Mitch Mconnell realized about trump. Trump is a moron, immature and cannot be trusted. Thats why the only thing that came out of having a republican congress and a republican president was an unneeded tax cut.
Repeal and replace obamacare? Dead
Fix immigration? Dead
Healthcare? Dead
infrastructure ? Dead

If I recall, immigration was one area where Trump was willing to give them more than they wanted, and they refused....So, they weren’t meeting in good faith.

Nope..if you recall..Republicans had both the house and senate and the presidency..and still couldn't get anything done..and here is why..
Remember that government shutdown by trump over the wall.
Well it started as a normal appropriation budget that was bipartisan..it had an increase in border funding..increase for funding for fencing and other Norden security. It was similar to the other budgets passed and was a bipartisan bill. Trump was poised to sign it as he had before..BUT. Shawn Hannity went on his show and ranted about how this budget didn't have specific money for a wall. Well then suddenly trump backed out of the deal and made Republicans that had supported the bill look like rinos. After that Republicans and the democrats had learned that trump would say one thing and then turn on a dime and tweet another.. he never dealt in good faith, in fact never really cared about the deal..only in how he looked and what was on social media.
That's why Mitch McConnell refused to let things go forward until trump was on record for exactly what he wanted..and so nothing got done because trump would never commit.

Most Americans know that the very wealthy are a threat to our way of life. The growing wealth disparity is not healthy for the economy either. You wish to deny reality because you are blinded by greed. There is room for the wealthy just not when their wealth keeps growing at a alarming rate while the rest of us stagnate. It is an alarm bell that is finally ringing in most of our heads.

Your "recall" is completely faulty. It was the one term mistake that reversed himself on DACA and threw a monkey wrench in the deal.

Why would the GOP ever work on ANY legislation that would benefit the Democratic Party going into the midterms…

Class envy and jealousy which I have no time for. Feel sorry for you blaming someone else for your poor choices and failures. No rich person ever prevented you from joining them. You are the problem not the rich

Why would the GOP ever work on ANY legislation that would benefit the Democratic Party going into the midterms…
Because it would be good for the country????

Wait....okay..all together....
Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaa!!!!

They aren't working on anything but obstruction and delay of anything that Biden proposes. We are wise to them now though and will pass what we can without them. That includes the infrastructure bill and tax increases on the wealthy and corporations.

here is what is really clear, whatever the Democrats propose you are going to support regardless of the content of the legislation, why don't you post the details of the Biden infrastructure bill and stop being abused by the left and buying their lies. Biden talks about Republican mayors obstructing infrastructure spending so can you tell me how many of America's top 50 cities by population are run by Republicans

Is this infrastructure?

Home care services and workforce: $400 billion

Biden would provide $400 billion to bolster caregiving for aging and disabled Americans

Manufacturing: $300 billion

Biden wants to put $300 billion toward boosting manufacturing.
Under his plan, $50 billion of the money would be invested in semiconductor manufacturing and another $30 billion would go towards medical manufacturing to help shore up the nation's ability to respond to a future outbreak.

Housing: $213 billion

The plan would invest $213 billion toward building, renovating and retrofitting more than two million homes and housing units.

Schools: $100 billion

Biden calls for $100 billion to build new public schools and upgrade existing buildings with better ventilation systems, updated technology labs, and improved school kitchens that can prepare more nutritious meals.

Workforce development: $100 billion

The President would allocate $100 billion to workforce development -- helping dislocated workers, assisting underserved groups and getting students on career paths before they graduate high school.

While you whine about the "price tag," China is spending trillions to beef up their own infrastructure. Why do you want China to win?

No, that’s not what I saw....

Trump was offering 1.8 million ”dreamers” a path in exchange, funding for his wall was included. So, rather than give Trump a small piece of his campaign promise, Pelosi and Democrats scuttled the deal, even though it was going to give them more than double the number of dreamers.

I think your analysis is clouded....

Your "recall" is completely faulty. It was the one term mistake that reversed himself on DACA and threw a monkey wrench in the deal.
You may see it as that, I see Democrats using dreamers for their political games, and not negotiating in good faith.

Wait....okay..all together....
Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhaaaaa!!!!
So you believe working with radicals like Harris, Schumer, Warren, Sanders, Biden is good for the country? Why would you call yourself a conservative?

China doesn't have 50 states and a Constitution that defines the role of the Federal Gov't. China is a single communist country that controls everything, is that what you want here?

Con clearly has never heard of the Interstate Highway System. Maybe he thinks that it's communist? ;)

And liberals like you have never heard of state highways and Bridges nor the excise taxes that fund them

Apparently so, because:

And liberals like you have never heard of state highways and Bridges nor the excise taxes that fund them

State highways and US highways work together as part of a combined highway system. Clearly your atlas removes the US highways.

How about this, since you obviously hate federal spending: Never travel on an interstate or US highway again. Ever. It'd be consistent for you.

Or are you dependent on what the US spends? ;)

Your opinions and interpretations are not law. An infrastructure package in the tune of $1+ trillion in new spending will become the reality whether you like it or not. Instead of using this thread as a means of throwing a tantrum, start your own thread where whining and butt-hurtedness is the topic, and stop trying to derail this one.

No, I prefer making a fool out of you here in this one, I gave you the list of items that aren't infrastructure which of course you ignored but are part of the spending proposals and then again you totally ignore where the excise tax dollars went which were also used to fund items other than infrastructure throughout the years. Then there is the issue of state and local responsibilities coming from the taxes they collect as well including STATE EXCISE taxes. What an embarrassment the left is to the education system in this country

Trump’s DACA Flip-Flops: A Timeline

Trump is out of office, this is about Biden's Infrastructure boondoggle, massive spending bill to buy votes. Your hatred of Trump didn't resonate in your state that voted for Trump. Isn't it possible that you are just to biased, partisan, and out of touch with reality? Why is it the left never tells us what good results come from liberalism? Look at all those pretty tent cities all over the country in liberal states and blue cities.
