And then when that leads to our own troops who are stationed over seas in the Middle East being attacked and targeted *more viciously* - it's still good, hmm?
I disapprove of these outward displays *SOLEY* based on the fact that we're actually dealing with emotional-immature people who will take their anger out on the nearest US citizen (military or otherwise) without a single moment of thought on the issue.
Things are starting to look like the religion war era in Europe . . . I thought we were suppose to me modern, advanced and more civilized?
Let me open with this disclaimer. I do NOT condone what this church in Florida plans to do. I think it is intolerant, and inciting while American lives are in direct contact danger in the ME.
But I would like to delve beyond the usual argument here, and discuss why it is ok, seemingly, for members of Islam to constantly desecrate things like the American Flag, and burn churches and bibles over there, while here it raises nary a story, but have one whacked church here threaten to burn a Koran, and all hell breaks loose in the press, and on the ground there.

This is why they should be ignored.Respect is a two way street.Plus is irritates the hell out of me that the entertainment business is free to mock and bash Christians and other groups of people but muslims are somehow a taboo subject because of spineless people in the entertainment business. If I had the money and means I would print out a whole bunch of korans on toilet paper and napkins, take a plane to the middle east drop the napkins and toilet paper korans on those hypocrites.Let me open with this disclaimer. Before some twit accuses me of hypocrisy and says that I oppose the ground zero mosque, I do not oppose the ground zero mosque. I am not even offended by the idea of Muslims building a mosque because the muslims building the ground zero mosque had nothing to do with 9-11.
Oh for God's sake. There is absolutely NO comparison other than that of those that want to trash this country at every turn. I get so damned sick and tired of this relativism that goes on with liberals. If you as a liberal think America is so bad that it is to be compared unfairly as you have here, to the likes of N. Korea then I am surprised that you reside in such a nation. Where are your standards man?
This liberal guilt over being born in America, the freest nation on the face of the earth, and living the good life telling everyone they should give up what they sweated, and shed blood for, while at the same time giving nothing themselves has got to STOP!
As a liberal you don't like this country? Move to Venezuela. I hear they just gave out cards to start rationing food. That's right food rationing...In paradise. See how you like it there in your 400 sq. ft. on room apt, and doing what Hugo tells you to do.
N. Korea! Hurumph!

Taboo? Have you ever seen South Park, Family Guy, or American Dad?
Yes I have. The only one to show Mohamed is south park and then comedy central censored it.
South Park's Depiction Of Muhammad Censored AGAIN
So the creator's of the show were all for it but the station wasn't.
Quite honestly I don't blame them after receiving death threats from extremists with their office address in the letter. Would you suggest the airing go forward with the risk of their corporate office being blown up? What would your reaction be to Comedy Central if they did move forward with this and their office was indeed blown up and dozens of people killed? Would you say you were glad they didn't back down and that those employee's died for a righteous cause?

Is there a limit in how much broadcast and cable stations should cave into terrorist demands? What if a Christians groups started sending terrorist threats to PBS,discovery, history and science channel to stop showing education programs over evolution? What if some other groups started sending terrorist threats to broadcast and cable stations to stop showing shows and programs that depict same sex relations? What if liberal/leftist groups started sending terrorist threats to FOX news? Should any other stations submit to terrorist demands?
Of course I am sure you will ignore those hypothetical questions or say those things haven't happened yet in order to avoid answering the question on what limit should broadcast and cable stations cave into terrorist demands.
All this does is make the evangelicals look bad.
It's only going to turn more people against them than there already are. If Islam truly is the religion of hate, then I don't see how responding with hate is going to accomplish anything.
Good political ploy though. It's gotten a lot of people's attention.

Does anyone actually argue it is OK? Seriously? Neither is against the law, nor should they be, but I wouldn't equate that to arguing it is OK.
That said, book burners of all stripes are really ignorant people. Who could do with less of them.

Quite frankly, this is WHY the Muslim extremists so dominate the public image of the Muslim people. Its not that I or others tolerate them, excuse them, or just ignore them...its that MUSLIMS tolerate them and ignore them. By ignoring them you give them power. There is but one answer for assholes that threaten to kill people over cartoons. Invite them someplace for a nice friendly discussion and completely and totally obliterate them. Hunt down every last one of them and kill them. Thats EVERYONE...Muslims..Christians...EVERYONE ought to be 100% committed to obliterating those ridiculous inane sick ****s. And anyone that even pokes their head out of a cave and MENTIONS Jihad...I dont care if its in the US on college campuses or in the dirtiest hole in the desert...they should be destroyed...eliminated.
Think of it in terms of the business. Comedy Central has more to lose by willing choosing to cause the possible deaths of it's employees rather then censoring, and most likely boosting the ratings of, a show many Americans don't watch.
Is there a limit? that is up for each public/private company to decide on it's self. Personally if I received a letter to my business from an extremist that was going to blow the place up tomorrow I would tell my employees to work from home until the police or FBI gave the all clear. Even then I am sure some employees would still be scared to come back to the office. I would NOT force them to come to work screaming "If we are going to die we will die united against terrorism!".

No, this is the usual argument here. The Islamists do it and that's okay, Christians do it and the liberals go mental. That is the usual strawman argument. But I would like to delve beyond the usual argument here
Don't be shocked. We are merely back on history's course. Two World Wars and a Cold War merely distracted us. It had been made clear since 1991 that the tribes were back. And it has become obvious that this new century is going to haqve a religious theme attached to it. Virtually every religion on earth is going through an internal struggle of identity and they are getting worse. With 9/11, we saw the beginning of a new phase in theongoing cross and crescent wars.
