This is the most confounding argument of them all. Why have any laws if it only applies to people who obey the laws? Murderers are going to murder. Rapists are going to rape. Can YOU explain the chart in my previous post?

I've explained this many times. Most criminal laws do not infringe on a person's rights *if they comply with the law.* As a matter of fact, they dont harm the person in any way at all, as long as they dont commit that crime. Laws against rape dont affect or harm a man...unless he rapes a woman. (And of course, laws dont do harm, enforcement/sentences do)

Gun laws do that...they infringe on our 2A rights and our property rights and our right to self defense. They make us more vulnerable to criminals...it leaves them with an advantage since "they wont obey the laws." Gun restrictions do harm to those that obey the laws...both in fact and potentially.

Now answer my question: why does gun control work in developed nations?

CA has tons of gun control. It just failed miserably in Thousand Oaks. CA had laws against almost everything that shooter did and carried.

Why doesnt gun control work in CA?

Chicago has stricter gun laws even than IL...why didnt gun control stop this shooting?

Where does that massive, very influential chuck of the American right / Republican party known as the religious right fit in there? They would seem to be "parents", though they tend to teach their children to be very submissive and deferential to authority. Accordingly, they tend to support authoritarian leaders and political systems.
