You heard it here first, maybe

I hate the WWE however I have to work their shows from time to time and I will say those guys are incredible athletes.

I always thought the stage was a tightly pulled canvas like a trampoline.
They're not, the are nearly three inch thick oak with a quarter inch of light foam under the canvas. Nowhere near like high school wrestling mats.

Even though it's scripted, these guys give each other a work out. Think stuntmen...

It's ludicrous violence, absurd body images for children, sexism and over-all barbarism. It's an atrocious poison for the children of America. Adults watching? Don't make me laugh. What a trash can.

Professors are failures in real life, seeking respite in white castles, disconnected from real people living real lives.

I beg to differ.

It's 'ivory tower', not white castle. White Castle is a hamburger. All professors have spent years in the field. I'm sure an anti intellectual platform will not propel The Rock to the Presidency.

I'm mostly sure.

I love it when people accidentally mix metaphors or confuse slogans. I guess it proves that the Pope does not crap in the woods.

When someone is always full of ****, it's good to note when they objectively have no ****ing idea what they're talking about.

I wish we could go back, but your quaint notion is from a different era. The American's who saw fit to give us the paranoid in the WH have screwed our country.

Get with the program, there's no going back now...

No, I'm not buying that. At some point the lies of the populist-nationalist right will come back to bite. "Fool me once, shame on you..." and all that.

BTW, that's really not a programme I'll be getting with even if I'm left in a minority of one. ;)

I couldn't care less who the Dems run against the despot. From a county assessor to a TV personality, I don't care. The people who stay home or throw their vote away on principle, will only give us four more years of Numnuts...

I know it's difficult to conceive of a worse choice than POTUS 45, but we all thought that about POTUS 43 and look who's there now!

I beg to differ.

I've encountered far too many who can' tie their shoelaces, have no idea how to shop for food, and can't understand at all the usual mundane factors of life.

Like the one in Scotland?

Another pseudo intellect thinking he knows. Who wrote of the White Castles and where were they? Either one is well read or not. And the metaphorical meaning is not related to Ivory Towers. More like Fawlty Towers.

"And the French pretender Pope died ignominiously, in the latrines of the forest, not the fields of honorable battle, the spear of justice through his bowels." Szegeny

The Pope did more than crap in the woods, he crapped out. Do you need an explanation or translation?

No, as is in political satire written as stories for children to prevent the loss of a head to the vindictive Queen.

uhh... okay..... cute story.

This evening I received a call from a long time political contact I haven't spoken with in about six months or so. This fellow and his wife are uber wealthy, have been since birth, well known on international social calendars, major philanthropists, high powered political fund raisers and donators, cable of deciding who will be a candidate, and who will not be a candidate for both major parties. Capable of purchasing a Scottish Castle and lands for $40 mil, and then spending $200 mil to refurbish the castle, on a whim. Never stay there for more than a few days, and then sell it at a loss of $150 mil on another whim, without putting more than minor dent in the family fortunes, replaced with two months of income. They maintain a NYC residency on Central Park South in one of the City's most expensive penthouse apartment, a 40 room triplex with both indoor and out door swimming pools, a ballroom that can seat 120 for dinner and a dance with a live 20 piece band, two kitchens, 12 bedrooms, 20 washrooms, including two that can each service 20 guests simultaneously. and servants' quarters. After some chit chat, mostly about the passing of old friends and mutual acquaintances, he drops the bomb.

He's been in conference with other powers that be, after hearing a presentation, in the spirit of Ronnie Reagan, of another actor itching for a Whitehouse residency. Someone I would never suspect of having such ambitions. This actor is of heroic proportions for many Americans, known as an intelligent man, a quality businessman, admired by children as well as adults, born in America, a Californian like Ronnie, and possibly, a major game changer, a scandal free good looking family man, devoted to his family, a man of reason. An actor more than willing to take a financial hit, a definite career interruption, for a while, to make films his kids could watch. My call was part of a search for other feedback, but I was so stunned, I had nothing to say, yet. I needed to digest the concept.

He's currently one of the top paid actors in the US. Could he walk away from that for the presidency? And the answer is Yes. He's sincere. People recognize his sincerity in his life. He's definitely got the name recognition, and could steal the limelight, and the presidency against the incumbent and all comers. He'd knock them all silly, one way or another.

Should this coalesce into a reality, Mr. Putin, watch your top knot. This is what you may up against:

Those young girls scared the crap out of me first time I saw them. They've matured.

Damn!

Sounds like your rich friends are idiots. You probably shouldn't take any advice from them.

I couldnt help to notice that they and you never mentioned the Rocks positions on anything, just the superficial hes an Californian actor just like Reagan.. line as if thats all that matters.

BTW it is old news that ROck was thinking about running. I heard it on TV a while a go. You didnt have to make up a fantasy about rich friends.

IDIOCRACY has come true a few hundred years earlier than predicted.

I hope you judge better than these college students.

Looks like those college students had it right the first time. Trump is just looking out for him and his buddies, while of course middle class America gets to pick up the tab. But hey, if Trump can get you bend over and you're willing smile about it, all the more power to him.

As I pointed out earlier, he has you well trained!

Trump will personally save up to $15m under tax bill, analysis finds

Republican tax cuts to fuel historic U.S. deficits

US deficit to approach $1tn after Trump tax cuts and spending bill

Indeed. Build the wall! Lock her up! Make America Great Again! They won't laugh at America!

LOL, Mexico isn't paying for the wall. Hillary is not locked up. America is far more divided than ever and is going in the opposite direction of "Great". And everybody is laughing at the USA.

Who would have guessed that this would happen when you select a leader who takes pride in their ignorance?

The year the world laughed at U.S.

Column One: America the laughingstock

European diplomats: Trump is a 'laughing stock', 'obsessed with Obama'

U.S. Becomes Laughingstock of World for Something Other Than Gun Control

They like to run against welfare but when in office they choose to do nothing because they don't have better ideas.

I always figured they just said what southerners and evangelicals wanted to hear to get elected, but never intended to do anything about that crap. They spend their political capital on deregulate and lower taxes for the wealthy. Once they succeed at mission #1, the rest is gravy.

I like Dwayne Johnson a lot. And yes, I would prefer him over Trump. But I really hope those aren’t our only real options when the time comes.

I cannot disagree but they really are good people and one of my favourite crews to work with.
I have never met the the rock but I have met many that have, fans are always asking about other wrestlers and among the entire group any of them that know him have nothing but respect for him and nothing but good things to say.

When I was a kid we played cowboys and Indians, war with authentic reproductions of weapons that actual soldiers were using in nam. Watched really bad kung fu movies and pretended to beat the crap out of each other.

Out of those things and . more I did grow up to be a soldier, I did study martial arts, (including kung fu) and I worked on a horse ranch for a bit.

However I never became a pro wrestler, boxer, football player, ect...

It's clean entertainment especially if you let children think it's real.

That being said my oldest son is a huge UFC fan and became a competitive fighter in the army so I guess it can happen that a kid can be influenced...

JFK had a lot in his favor for sure. But aside from his nice hair...he also served his country with distinction and wrote a best selling book and held a public office before he ran for president.

So what has Rock done to serve his community?

I'm not going to compare The Rock to Camacho but putting him up there as a candidate IS INDEED a very Idiocracy style move, and not because he's as dumb as Camacho, either. I'm sure Dwayne Johnson isn't stupid.

It's an Idiocracy style move because:
"LOOK, JUST HOW MUCH OF A CARTOON CHARACTER DO WE NEED TO BEAT TRUMPISM????"

Seriously, do we keep escalating this to crazier and crazier heights of absurdity?
Do American really need this level of mental masturbation to put their support behind a candidate?
What's next, how distorted and over-compensating do our candidates have to be at this point?

It's "the end of literacy and the triumph of spectacle" writ large and I don't want any part of it, it MUST END with Trump.

My captain was Sean Michael's brother. Capt. Hickenbottom. Sean's real name is Michael Sean Hickenbottom.

WWE is poison.

Of course they're idiots, that's why they are wealthy and you are not. That's why they influence the courses of the nation, and you do not.

It is so easy to forget, Trump's early decision to run was intended as a joke, and then took on legs. Because you know all. I am very impressed by your latitudinal skills.
