It is quite entertaining though! I trust you'd understand, as your posts here suggest you've played the game for years on end.A reason so many Americans argue over such stupid, partisan politics is because they are brain dead, at the very least brain damaged, from football.
No, not European football. American football.
A reason so many Americans argue over such stupid, partisan politics is because they are brain dead, at the very least brain damaged, from football. And this claim is substantiated by a new study correlating five years of intensive research which has come to the conclusion that football, at least at the college level, causes CTE, a type of neurological disorder.
Young boys starting their football "careers" get thousands of small hits, tackles, slams, bumps and head bangs -- all of which can and do add up to serious medical conditions by the time they are playing college football. At least this is what physicians, such as Dr. Robert Stern, at places like Boston University medical group, have concluded after intensively studying the brain tissue of many players and the effect football impacts have over the long-term.
So it's high-time this senseless and stupid blood sport -- enjoyed mostly by the intellectually-challenged -- be acknowledged for what it is.

What makes you think football is a cause, rather than a symptom for social decline?
Spengler theorized that the shift from participatory to spectator sports as well as the rise of gargantuan archetecture was a symptom of a culture that had begun it's decline.
In the case of the N.F.L. we have both.

Not sure how to respond to this.

In rugby it is spinal injuries from scrums that are the most dangerous (110 rugby players in Britain have been paralysed by playing the game).
190 rugby matches at Scottish schools resulted in 37 injuries. "Most children are not going to go professional, so why are their bodies being mauled and mashed and battered
American Football - Average tackles per game per player: 4 with highest recorded at 4600lbs
Rugby - Average tackles per game per player: 16 - Average hit impact: 1600lbs. of force
ok, ban football.... but replace it with a sport consisting of smarmy high minded sissies battling each other with chainsaws
we can work out a scoring system later...
space ... the final frontier
Given that if this planet could take all the energy that gets pumped into sports
and redirect it ... we could have a space program that actually flies.....
have a nice day
: )
Sounds boring for us 9-5 guy's.
Really the media could have it televised and everybody jump up & cheer because
we have successfully launched another satellite into orbit. YA! better "google earth pix"

While we're at it, we should all live in rubber rooms and wear bubble wrap. The vast majority of kids who play football won't play it beyond high school and very very few make it to the NFL. What else should be banned? MMA, hockey, bull riding, racing cars? Maybe our spectator sports should be nothing more physically demanding than beer pong.
More chance of banning cheesburgers and coca cola
