I'll either do that, or just smoke weed with my friends and eat barbecue.

Hold a family and friends barbecue of course.

Swimming.
Barbecue, Southern style.
Then we'll sit around and talk **** about Obama for a while.
More Swimming.
Eating left over barbecue.
Making homemade ice cream.
More talking **** about Obama.
Shoot fireworks at the sky and explain the National Anthem to the children.

Then we'll go home, have our children say a prayer of thanks (that Obama won't be President forever), and go to bed. :mrgreen:

I've never really celebrated the 4th all that much, or really any holidays for that matter (except for Christmas and Thanksgiving and that's mainly because my family has gatherings for those two). I mean, as a kid I set off fireworks, but that was about it. As a kid I'd also get dragged into visiting my stepfather's family and they were nightmarishly boring, so it's hard not to associate the 4th with bad memories. As for now, I don't really do anything. It's just a day like any other.
 
We do the same thing as everyone else. The only difference is that while we are attending parades, BBQing, watching fireworks etc....we understand that the true meaning of patriotism is more than waving a flag and feigning support by worshiping the fabric of the flag while rejecting the principles for which is stands.

I've never "lat" a flag...nor do I plan to. I respect the principles that the flag represents. Although I would never personally burn our flag, I don't get outraged over it....it get more outraged at the imbeciles who seek to destroy the values and freedoms that it represents.

It's cool though, since you oppose 'Nationalized health care, which is a much bigger fish imo.

What do they BBQ, though? Do Cons BBQ different things than Libs? I would imagine they'd have to, what with PETA and all, and since Libs are all about being green and BBQ gives off a lot of toxins.

Or do they use different fuels to BBQ?

Pow Wow time!

My new lodge (tipi) will move from the mountains to the pow wow grounds to my spot by the creek.

Each day, twice a day, the Warriors (Vets) will bring in the flags, American, Canadian, Tribal, State, and eagle staff, leading the dancers into the grounds while my relatives sing this honor song for the veterans and those still serving.

Black Lodge Drummers & Singers, Kenny Scabby Robe and sons, grandsons from the Umskapi Pikuni (Blackfeet Nation of Montana).

Then we spend the time dancing and visiting..... 4 days of celebration.
