Trump’s “Christian” supporters do not follow a central message of Jesus

I can only laugh. Oh, my.
*shrug*

It's your soul. You go ahead and tell God what he should have said and/or what he really meant. Not my problem. I'm sure things will be fine. There's some stuff in the books of Daniel and Samuel about people trying to play lawyer games with God. Worked out just fine, IIRC.

If it's not your problem, then redirect your attention to the state of your own immortal soul and leave mine to me and my Father.

Nota, i think we are back to Reading Comprehension on this forum.

I was just making an observation. Far be it from me to get in the way of someone's spiritual salvation. Or damnation.

I missed the verse that identified them as unbelievers…..

(Luke 11:15) "But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzeub the chief of the devils" Compare to (Matt. 12-24) "But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils."

Read all of (Luke 11:39-54). Note especially (Luke11:53-54) "And as he said these things unto them, the scribe and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things: Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they migt accuse him." Compare that to (Luke 17:20) "And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come...."

(Luke 14:1-6) "And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him....And they could not answer him again to these things."

(Luke 16:14-15) "And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him......".

Thus it is not hard to see that these Pharisees in (Luke 17:20) are not believers. They demanded for Christ to answer. They asked because they sought to catch Him in something so as to accuse Him. Meaning, the Kingdom of God cannot be within them.

Except Jesus is talking to unbelieving Pharisees in those verses. Is Jesus saying the Kingdom of God is 'in them', the unbelieving who will later have him crucified?

Good point...he was talking to the people who refused to accept him as who he said he was...God's Son...

And I think it's important to note that Jesus didn't mind giving an enigmatic answer to the Pharisees. He really didn't care if they understood the Kingdom or not. They had already committed the unpardonable sin, ascribing the work of the Holy Spirit to Beelzebub, prince of the devils. (Matt. 12:24) (Luke 11:15)

And in post #(581) my reference says (Matt. 12-24). Why is a typo. It should be (Matt. 12:24) . For some reason I can't edit it, though there was still time to do so.

Well, you can't, frankly. You have no influence one way or another. Of course, all sincere prayers are always welcome.

The kingdom of God is a very difficult concept to grasp. Our only real frame of reference is the material world. Do we dream of a much better version of our world ? Personally I believe it will be spiritual…..so, if and when it exists I can only believe it will be a total surprise beyond our imagination. First and foremost for me is: Why a king ? We think of a king as a ruler….able to address disorder and establish laws that define violations. Disorder is only possible with the existence of free will, sin and the ego. Will these 3 exist in the kingdom ? Was the ‘narrow gate’ not narrow enough ? Why a king ? If the Holy Spirit leads to all truth what is there that the king can tell us ?

Over the decades tons and tons of young people have watched how religious people act in Evangelical churches and have decided that religion is not for them. They don't like the hate.

Ironic, huh?

Why a king ?
Because...

“It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” Jeremiah 10:23
Disorder is only possible with the existence of free will, sin and the ego. Will these 3 exist in the kingdom ?
No...

“They will not cause any harm or any ruin in all my holy mountain, because the earth will certainly be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah as the waters cover the sea.” Isaiah 11:9
Why a king ? If the Holy Spirit leads to all truth what is there that the king can tell us ?
Jesus Christ and his co-rulers will be perfect rulers in every way...

"Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and they will rule as kings with him for the 1,000 years." Revelation 20:6

thank you for proving my point made above

The old “they’re not really Christians” excuse. It’s been around for ever.

the next perfect candidate to run for office, will be the first.

More excuse-making for Trump and his anti-Jesus actions, once again proving the OP.

Because...

“It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.” Jeremiah 10:23

One must consider the audience. This comes from the OT…..all men were mortal…..with no concept or promise of eternal life…..the promise of the 10 Commandments for leading a sinless life was a material one: a long life and prosperity…..Deuteronomy 5:33

Just like the peace of God transcends all understanding…Philippians 4:7……I am suggesting that the kingdom of God transcends all understanding…..to attempt to understand is like advancing a conspiracy theory…..we are to live the life we are given in the here and now….are we at-tempt-ing to impressing God that we already know what the kingdom of God is like ? “The secret things belong to the Lord our God..” Deuteronomy 29:29….be surprised is my advice…..:)

“For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.” 1 Corinthians 13:9….

One must consider the audience.
lol...better yet consider the evidence...starting with Adam and Eve, up until our day...
the promise of the 10 Commandments for leading a sinless life was a material one: a long life and prosperity…..Deuteronomy 5:33
That's nice...Christians are not under the Old Mosaic Law but a New Law Covenant with Jesus Christ...

“The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah, and you must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind and with your whole strength.’ The second is this, ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Matthew 12:29-31

Believing/keeping those commandments will ensure us not just this life, but in the life to come on a paradise earth...

"The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him." John 3:36

“The secret things belong to the Lord our God..” Deuteronomy 29:29…
That was then, this is now...

Today, Jehovah has shed much light on these “things revealed.” As prophesied by Daniel, Jehovah’s people have ‘roved about’ in the inspired Word, and ‘true knowledge has become abundant.’ (Daniel 12:4) Thus, we now know the identity of the “other sheep.” (John 10:16) We recognize the “great crowd.” (Revelation 7:9-17) We see the fulfillment of the parable of the sheep and the goats. (Matthew 25:31-46) Such things have been disclosed, or made known, to us but not in the sense of “the things revealed” as recorded in Jehovah’s inspired Word.

Therefore, it would not be correct to put such advances in understanding on the same level as the inspired revelations that make up “the things revealed” recorded in the Bible. Rather, through an intensive study of the Bible, Jehovah’s people have prayerfully sought a correct understanding of those “things revealed.” Jehovah, by means of holy spirit, has given that understanding in his own due time.

The Bible tells us that “the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established.” (Proverbs 4:18) The increasing light that Jehovah has shed on “the things revealed” shows that that “day” is getting closer and proves that his blessing is on the Christian congregation today.

I've said it for a long time. As a Christian, I'm appalled by their love for Trump particularly in the Evangelical/Protestant world. Why support a man that goes against everything Christ?

I get it. We have our cultural differences with the Democrats. But that isn't a reason to support the most deplorable and hateful man alive.

What is one to do when the other candidate, be it Biden or Harris in this case, is even WORSE in this regard? Biden, in particular, is an evil, vindictive POS.

How nice of you to clarify the word of God for us.
Criticizes someone for sharing what they see the Bible saying.
There's a term for that. It is called "taking the Lord's name in vain" and it is very much against the rules.
Then he next sentence does the exact thing he is criticizing with snark.

Not to mention that "taking the Lord's name in vain" means something more like using the creators reputation for personal gain.

The Kingdom of God does require serious Bible study to understand. But it is there to understand.

And, our only frame of reference is the Bible.

Your question, 'why a king', is good. In other words, if you have a 'kingdom' you have a 'king'. And the Bible says there is a 'Kingdom'.

Of course the Kingdom is 'spiritual'. But why does that take away from the physical? Jesus Christ, the God Man, sits today at the right hand of God. (Heb. 1:3) A Man with a physical body sits at the right hand of God in Heaven. Surely you acknowledge that the Son is 'spiritual'.

There is plenty that the Holy Spirit has told us, in the Bible, about the Kingdom. But you refuse it and attempt to negate it by saying all is 'spiritual'. Which doesn't negate it. If just leaves you in ignorance of what the Kingdom is.

Strange statement. "As a Christian" and "their love" and "We have". I'm not sure what you are.
