Great story! Thank you for sharing.

I even have a bit of a story behind my real name. I have two middle names, identical to my father.

When my father was born, he was a "blue baby". If you're not familiar with the term, he was born with a hole between the chambers of his heart. This gave the babies a blue tint because their blood isn't properly oxygenated. They didn't think that my dad was going to live, and both of his aunts wanted to help name him. The name got handed down to me. I'm not a "Jr.", or "the second", my name is identical to my father's.

Deegan, I know how you feel, I lost my father a little over a year ago. Last January 19th.

I was the one who figured out why he died that day. He just couldn't bear to see Bush re-inaugurated! (He would have loved that joke)

I'm sorry to hear about your father. Your joke is cute, though.

How did they fix your father's heart, if you don't mind my asking? Did he have to undergo surgery? If so, how do they fix it (i.e., seal the hole??)?

Well I am certainly glad your father did pull through, or would not have your company today. My father didn't die, not that I know of anyway, he left 20 some years ago, and I never saw him again, sorry if I gave that impression, sometimes I do say he's dead, as he might as well be. Thanks for the thought, and I'm sorry to hear about your dad, I'm gald you were able to spend some quality time with him though.:(

Good to see you willing to trot out some of your favorite old disco moves.

As to my screen name, it reprsents the limits of my aspirations. Having only begrudgingly abandoned my dreams of a life as an astrophysicist, real estate mogul, ecdysiast or inspirational guru, I have settled upon a life's work not in the least bit unfettered by my considerable lack of talent and ability, and coinciding quite nicely with a rather sturdy body type well suited for toil. I grub about in the soil for the most part, and while my fingers have been rendered mere stubs, the constant stooping has transformed my frame into a permanent hunker and the incessant sun has parched my skin into something resembling the casing on a poorly constructed shrimp roll, my choice of life's work will all be worth it when on that day when I finally pass from this green earth, somebody who only knows me casually says "Oh, him? He was a gardener".

I am always curious why people choose certain user names, so here's an opportunity for me (and others) to learn why you have chosen the one you have.

When we first hooked up on the web some 11ish years ago I had six children and immediately hooked up on a parenting site. Since everyone seemed to have nicks related to parenthood (often combos of kiddos names or similar concepts) I picked "sixmom". It made sense, except I was actually expecting my seventh child by then, so within a couple of months I changed it to "expectingseven" and then later "seven" when he was born. During my next pregnancy I nabbed "eight" right away (practically when I got the positive test lol) so I'd be ready for a later nick change, but then had twins so I became "nine".

Sick of nick changes (and the resulting *ignore* phase you go thru with a new nick when you were formerly known on a board) I picked "nineplus" when my tenth child was born and have never looked back. We really weren't planning to have more necessarily when I picked it out, but I joked that that plus part would cover any more family additions.........and then came two more kiddos so it was a good call on my part :)

Alec comes from Alexander which is Greek for man's defender. My mom named me after Alec Guinness. I'm sooo much cooler than everyone else

um, no, not at all :)

it looked more like me carrying a pack filled with water bottles and clif bars over hills through the gw national forest, while we searched for 8 geocaches, 2 of which were brutal to find (though we did eventually locate them), with a sassy 4 year old trailing at my heels trying her best to verbally torment me all day!

good fun was had by all :)

::Major_Baker:: is the last name you will see after you get brutally killed in a fast paced game of Battlefield 2.

What does Alexandra mean in Greek? ;)

Donkey= I can be a major pain in the ***, and I can also be a really big *** hole. I'm also stubborn.

1499= 14 was John Andretti's number in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series in the beginning of 2005, but lately he's been driving the #10 in the NASCAR Busch Series. 99 was for Carl Edwards, who at the time (in 2005) was my favorite Rookie in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series. But after much debate with myself and many sleepless nights, I decided in Jan. 2006 that my favorite drive is going to be new NASCAR Rookie, Clint Bowyer who drives the #07 Jack Daniels Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nextel Cup. So I should change my name, except that it might confuse some people on here.

My cousin is really into that game, and he could kill you with an Anti-tank rocket even if you were hopping around on the other side of the map. I've been hooked on videogames since the Super Nintendo. After Electronic Arts came out with Battlefield Vietnam I was put off (and pissed off) so I never looked into BF2.
