Tashah has left DP

Currently this situation is in limbo. Best I can tell you at this juncture. When new information comes to light, I will inform the forum.

Should we assume by now that no new info will be coming forth?

Nope. Situation is still in limbo. When it gets out of limbo, information will be provided in this thread.

Ziggy Stardust? Does he have the spiders from Mars with?

She's buying DP and all rights to its contents?

I don't know how the rest of you feel about this but I have seen some good people leave DP over the years. It would be really sad if we lose Tashah. She is the voice of reason here. Hell Im just an old soldier and I tend to get myself in trouble for speaking my mind but I know this Tashah is good people. I hope she is not leaving because of some of the malevolence directed towards her country and people. I doubt it, she is to strong to let that bother her. Anyway she was here again for a brief moment this morning. I know she has friends here lets show her how much we appriciate her and that we want her to stay.

My dear friends,

My gratitude to SgtRock for creating this thread. For the concern and for all of the kind words that have been expressed here, I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

The phenomena known as “burn-out” oftentimes strikes many of us who have been here for many years and thousands of posts. Like a virtual plague, it strikes all of us eventually. It also exacts a heavy toll on the DP staff and it did indeed exact a toll on me. The options available to preserve our sanity then are quite stark and limited... either withdraw or implode. Although the cure was an intended permanent departure, I found that it is even more difficult to leave behind the many dozens of people here that I have come to love and cherish. I’ve discovered that although burn-out is birthed in time, time is also the best salve.

Time has dispersed the jinn’s that tormented my soul. I wish to thank CaptainCourtesy for his persistence, and the entire DP staff for blessing me with their unwavering support. I also wish to thank all of you who dedicated your personal time to me in this thread. I am blessed and forever grateful.

Love and hugs,
Tash

Welcome back, Tash. :)

So glad to read this, Tashah. I know what you mean by burnout, as we have been here about the same amount of time. Welcome back!

The cause for burnout are different for different people, but probably the biggest for many peoples the sense that they are up against a brick wall, and the resulting hopelessness brought on by the feeling that nothing will ever change. If that is the case, I would sat that one can either resign themselves to that fact, or work to effect the changes necessary to allow one to continue. In your case, I certainly hope it is the latter.

When I get down, a trip on the boat into a quite cove with a book(without the laptop ) usually helps…give it a try.:2wave:

A warm welcome back, Tashah. Without your presence and contributions here, there was an unmistakable sense of emptiness at DP, a sense of something's missing.

At least Tucker wont have to find a different set of pins to ogle:)

Glad to see your back Tashah! This place wouldn't have been the same without you.

Welcome back! You were sorely missed.

I really don't know you that well nor have we conversed but, I am glad to see that you are back as your true friends from all leans of the political spectrum seem to have a great respect for you and with that said you have mine, welcome back.

Three cheers for Sgt Rock and Tashah;)

Have probably only talked to Tashah only a handful of times in 5 years, likely because I agree with her on many things, definitely because it is impossible for a bug (me) to converse with a Hawking (her) and not look like an idiot. You don't know how much you'll miss someone until they're gone, even a person you hardly see.

Welcome back, Tashah!

This calls for a celebration!

I'm very glad to hear that you did not leave. You're an amazing poster and I always enjoy reading your posts. You're one of DP's finest and we are privileged to have you here.

It is good to take a break occasionally, Tashah....
But there are others who have taken an extended break that I miss as well.
and then there are some who I wish would take a long break...
or at least a deep breath.:2razz:
