Oh, The GOP Sure Showed Obama...

Looks like he was a better negotiator then the GOP in Congress.

and a **** sandwich tastes better than a vomit shake. But neither represents grade-a cuisine

Repubs were called out on their decades old concept of false equivaleny..
This time, Cantor admitted in May he had all he wanted in Ryan's Budget..
What is theirs is theirs..
What is ours must be split..
That you got the medical device tax and language you like is a win-win for Repubs and you still can't say yes.

You see, Iim shocked not that they folded, but that they actually put up a fight. Now that they folded, with only the tax taken off medical devices and closer scrutiny to eligible participants, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN PLACE to begin with I am surprised that they have no sense of showmanship at all. I mean, They must really think people are stupid to see that they did this for nothing more than show, and not on any actual principle.

Cynics can say they seen this coming a mile away, but it doesn't take a soothsayer to figure out which group is the heel grabbers in public office these days...

The fight was the individual mandate, not some god damn tax...

I never said either did a good job. But the GOP really screwed up.

The GOP was destined to lose from the beginning. They set a position that Obama was NEVER going to back down to. They were horrible at negotiating this.
Then the court of public opinion decides who is holding the bad hand. Honestly, there is an unpopular law that people want gone, and the people refusing to talk were the ones refusing to negotiate on it, that kind of leverage is incredible, and like the wimps they are, the GOP pissed it away. That is why they are a dying party destined to fail, and unfortunately when they have to be replaced it's going to cost more than they can ever imagine.

Without a doubt Cap. It's like the guy who wants 500$ off a used car but settles for the dealer price, always walk when you have a certain value in mind.

I don't think anyone is denying that. In fact, most people knew the moment the shut down occurred that they screwed up, given their past handling of brinkmanship moments and inability to connect with anyone besides their ideological base

I assume you notice non-verbal body language..
That posters don't want to talk of Cantor's about-face when *itch-slapped by the Kochs stuns me..
That they appear oblivious to Christie riding to the rescue on Wed. after the Koch letter is denial.
so as to prevent a violent swing Left and give the people the same bailout as the corporations, they're the scummiest of the scum... I never liked them and I actually despised the Tea Party in large part because of their involvement.

And unlike the GOP, who were doing handstands on Oct. 1st as well as today at the 'Values Voter' Summit, Dems will act like they've been there after catching the TD pass..

In all sincerity, 9 scheduled days in September wasn't exactly a lot of time to agree on anything, let alone a complicated Law..
That Boehner had to fudge on his deal with Reid at the last hour for the rule change shows "SOMEONE" else is in power--cantor..
Cantor tossed Rogers from appropriations and had Ryan put forth his bill that lost in the 2012 election..
The fight was the individual mandate, not some god damn tax...

See, I've despised Cantor, and Boehner, along with Reid and Pelosi from the very start. Nothing that putz does surprises me, nothing that complete moron Boehner does surprises me, Reid and Pelosi never fail to surprise by their depths of depravity, but I knew what kind of filth all four of them were from the very beginning.

Correct, the GOP is more concerned with protecting their own asses than holding to their convictions, and as long as they play the line they'll get run over.

Well, no. The GOP where not "protecting their asses", they where failing in the one chance they had to "win" this, which was blame everything on Obama. Once it became clear people realized that both parties shared blame, then the GOP was left with not just a weak hand, but no hand. They literally could not win.

You forgot to call them commie socialists.

This is why I left the Republican party, no spine and even less convictions. Obama is a horrible negotiator and a worse White House occupant.

I was never a republican, but without a doubt the republican party has to be most worthless party in the world. Not only do they lie about what they really believe in, but they always fold when the democrats even hint at pushing back. They just aren't worth ****.

Sure they could, any good poker player, negotiator, or politician knows there is no such thing as a completely bad hand, it's what you do with it from there that determines the rest. The problem is, they blinked, as always and so from this point on whenever Reid or Obama want something all they have to do is wait, the Republicans were completely ****ing stupid for blinking.

So who do you like Chez??
Are you voting for Durbin next year??
I'm voting for Kinzinger against his TEAt primary foe..
You surely know that four TEAts now have a RINO primary foe.

Yep. No argument there, and the party deserves to die.

EDIT - I mean the GOP needs to die off politically if this is true, they are officially more useless than the Democrats.

That's not entirely true, knowing that both parties are to blame was a plus in their column. NARRATIVE, that's what the GOP is hung up on, but I don't honestly think they wanted this fight, just didn't like being unmanned by the Jr. Senator from Texas.

Is this true? I can't find it anywhere else and I don't trust the site from the OP.

If it is then holy ****ing awesome!!!

:2dance:

Looks like I'm voting 3rd party again.

Should be fun in 2016 with R. Paul and C. Christie, 'sea-change' stuff..

Did you catch that comment from Mike ditka about his greatest mistake, not running against BHO in general Senate election in 2004??
I think his greatest mistake was ****ing Walter over in the Super Bowl.

Again, no. They could have won, if people bought into the idea democrats where at fault. People proved to be smarter than that. Carrying this on much longer and real damage is done to the country so they had to negotiate. Now all they can do is get something instead of nothing.

When you bluff on a bad hand, sometimes you get called. Republicans had a bad hand.
