Does anyone else have a least favorite flower?
Mine is sunflowers.
I find them obnoxious.
There's a bathroom at my workplace decorated in a sunflower motif, and I just can't stand it.
Besides finding them obnoxious, I also find them a little bit scary.
I mean the big overgrown ones: six foot tall stalks with a flowers the size of a dinner plate.
I'm phobic of them, I think. They fill me with dread. Kind of like those new modern windmills (the wind turbine kind).

My most favorite flower is lilacs. I also like wisteria (which is sort of like a cut-rate lilac). I like snapdragons, too, and gerbera daisies can sometimes be amusing.
I'm indifferent when it comes to roses. If I have to have roses, they'd better be white.

Does anybody else have a most and least favorite something? Doesn't have to be flowers.

Favorite flower.. most probably the Cherry Blossom.
It's just so goddamned calm.

I have no least favorite flower, I ain't no floweracist.

My favorite food is sushi... my most disliked food is filafel. My friends all don't understand. I just can't stand it.

I hybridize these guys, so I would have to say they are my favorites:

For least favorrite, I'd have to say Cestrum nocturnum.

Can't think of a least favorite offhand, but my fav are lillies. And of the lillies, stargazers are my fav. I LOVE the way they smell, and the way they look.

Honeysuckle would be right up there too, for smell. I can't get enough when I smell honeysuckle.

My favorite is probably Rush. My least favorite is the Grateful Dead.

My fav flower is the Daisy. I am not all into these fancy flowers and am not really fond of roses.

I would much rather pick wild flowers to display in my home over some of these fancy flowers that people spend a ton of money on:)

Give me a bunch of Daisy with some babybreath and am happy girl:cool:

I only like Gerbera Daisies, and I only really like them because they're funny.
Goofy-looking, like cartoon flowers.

Here are my other faves:

Lilac:

They don't really grow here, because it's too hot.

These are Wisteria; they grow like crazy here.
They look and smell a lot like lilac:

And snapdragons. These are just cool; you can add them to a bouquet for a funky, eclectic look:

I don't care for real flowers either way unless I can eat them or smoke them. My favorite for both purposes is roses, though I like eating dandelions and sunflowers and smoking jasmine and lilac.

I like pictures of flowers. Mary Engelbreit's artwork features a lot of sunflowers and daisies, and I like cartoon flowers in things like Hello Kitty. I like bright, cheerful things in general, though I generally prefer that they not be too crowded or busy.

Do you like Georgia O'Keefe?

Can't say as I'm familiar with her, though the name sounds familiar somehow.

Flower pictures.
She was a modern artist who painted abstract flowers.
Look her up; the pictures are very nice.

How do you smoke the jasmine and lilac? Do you put in a bowl or bong or use rolling papers? Does it give ya a high or anything? Just curious.

Diced up petals and essential oils from the flowers mixed with molasses cured tobacco in a hookah. The flowers themselves don't give a buzz, but you get more nicotine high from less nicotine content by smoking it that way-- the flowers just add a nice flavor.

Like smoking catnip from a tobacco pipe in between bowls. No buzz, but a nice mellow flavor.

Never was much on flowers except to give them to a lady.

Music, most favorite, a tie between Classic Rock and Blues

Least favorite flower: marigold without a doubt. Not sure why- I just find them ugly and they don't even have a redeeming scent.

Favorite flower: it's a toss-up between the large pink hibiscus flower with the red center or a passionvine flower. They are both knockouts to they eyes imo.

Favorite is probably Locust flowers simply from their hanging globs of sweet scent in spring. Always loved them the most. Chestnut and hyacinth are also way up there.

There is no least favorite flower... all flowers even the nasty one's are amazing.

Agreed. I can't stand those, either.

I hear ya on the sunflower, 10. It's so gawdy and crass. I *hate* sunflower motif decorating.

Roses, OTOH, have my heart. They're beautiful and dangerous and aren't suppose to do well here. I love defying the odds. I'm not so much into the heirloom roses as much as I just like to make little garden scenes with roses.

I didn't take pics this year, since we had a crappy spring. These 2 are just the ones I have on this comp. I probably have over 1,000 pics of my roses on my other comp (you guys dodged a bullet! lol)

Oh, I found this one in my pics. I guess I liked it because it was nice to see a rose blooming in November in Maine.

Second fav flower is Nikko Blue Hydrangea.

What are those in front of the liatris (if that's what it is )?

You mean the sage? Those little pink flowers are just dianthus (there's some white, arctic fire dianthus in there, too). I planted them from seed and was expecting a much deeper pink. There's lavender mixed in there as well, but isn't too visible as that was the bed's first year.

Yeah, the color threw me off, though the white ones should have been a hint. That's sage? It looks like liatris; do you know its species name?

I think liatrus is more for your zone. My sage is Salvia Mainacht (May Night). It's a staple in my beds as it blooms all season.
