Las Vegas Man Kills Himself After Casino Revoked His Lifetime Free Buffet Pass
Zk8ISnX.jpg

John Noble, 53, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He purposefully chose the M Resort in Henderson, Nev., about 15 minutes from the famed Las Vegas Strip, as the scene of his death.

Before killing himself, he set his own car on fire in a parking garage.

The night before Noble ended his life, he sent a box of his gripes against M Resort employees to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, according to the newspaper.

“Today, I end my life due to the M Resort Spa Casino and its employees,” the man wrote in one of two attached suicide notes.

Noble blamed his then-impending death on depression. He suffered from depression, he said, because employees at the M Resort had granted him a lifetime pass to free food at the buffet in September 2010 but later took the perk away — and, in fact, banned him from the resort completely.

Noble indicated that resort management instituted the ban because female employees felt he had been harassing them.
Only in America will a man kill himself because he was denied a lifetime's worth of free buffet.

EDIT: come to think of it, how does one get a lifetime pass for free buffets? :2razz:

I doubt that was the reason.

But now that I think of it. If I was going to commit suicide because of depression or money problems or a terminal illness I would have some fun with it. I would go to a McDonalds 5 minutes after they stop serving breakfast and order an egg McMuffin. When they said they were no longer serving breakfast I would drop to my knees scream "Nooo! I missed it! I NEEDED that McMuffin!"

Then I would point a gun to my head, say "**** you McDonalds" and pull the trigger.

I mean, I was going to do it anyway. Why not mess with people's head? The headlines would read "Handsome man kills self over McMuffin". Then people would post a thread here asking what kind of person would kill themself over a McMuffin. Jeez, they don't even taste that good.

Though now that I think of it, I could go for an egg McMuffin. Damn it! It's lunch time.

Suicide at M Resort blamed on loss of free buffet for life | Las Vegas Review-Journal

As per the Las Vegas newspaper, he won it somehow.

The article goes on to say that he left 270 pages of hand-bound notes, as well as a two-hour DVD of him ranting about all those that done wronged him.
The guy was obviously ****ed in the head. At least he didn't take anyone else with him.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Up until right now everyone who's ever been born has eventually died.

Boohoo. His suicide reasoning and his suicide made me laugh. I need good laughs every now and then.

This could have so easily ended with several employees killed.

For that too I am glad that he was the only casualty.

But some people just want to someone to blame for their personal problems.

Depression is not something you cure, it's something you manage, I do too and have found very good ways of dealing so but in this case once you slip to an absolute point of hopelessness you'll lose your ability to self analyze and the rest of the world is the problem.

Someday when you grow up you'll learn that mental illness is not a punchline.

Me, I could eat some biscuits and gravy- with some scrambled eggs and bacon on the side.

But right now I'm trying to lose a little weight.

The only mental illness I see here is serious entitlement issues coupled with the fact that he wasn't allowed to harrass chicks who wanted nothing to do with him.

In regards to the possible harrassment, he was teetering dangerously close to "inferior subhuman" category, but was able to avoid it and simply stay at the "stupid" category.

Well, I'm glad you were able to complete your psychology residency so quickly so you could diagnose the deceased based on a Yahoo News article.

It's pretty clear the guy had issues well beyond "serious entitlement."

Human is human, and even if the circumstances behind his death seem rather trite, laughing at the death of another human isn't really a good thing. All human life has value, even the lives of the mentally ill.

Absolutely. My mom has value to me, doesnt mean I wont laugh when she does something stupid.

If she blows her brains out please be sure to show us a video of you laughing your ass off...

Congratulations. You have proven to be completely ignorant on anything regarding mental health issues. You don't seem to understand the difference between depression and behavior. I'd suggest some education on this matter, but your own entitlement and self-righteousness seems to preclude you accepting that education.

So if she did something stupid resulting in her death, you'd just be rolling on the floor laughing, huh?

Refer to #17

Offing one's self over the inability to harrass others as well as eat all day = I laugh

Not yet but, judging by what's happened to everyone except them who has ever been born so far, their day will come.

Not wishing any bad luck on them, just stating a fact.

Wait and see.

Tell us all about it a hundred years from now.

We're looking forward to hearing the tale.
