General 2012 Election Results Discussion Thread

I really dislike that they safely count the West Coast as a bloc going dem. I know, it's history, but it's like, by the time the race gets here, what we do counts so little if at all.

109 Precints reporting in ND Senate race

49.82% Berg (R)
49.72% Heitkamp (D)

Over $2B spent and not much changes. Americans can sure blow cash.

Repubs pick up senate seat in Nebraska..Fischer

Obama takes big initial lead in Iowa, for what it's worth.

Well I mean it is like the early part of the night Romney had leads because of the South. The elections really only matter in 5-6 states. It is why I never really vote for anyone because I know my vote in SC or MA doesn't matter.

CNN pundits are calling FL and the election but I still won't believe it till more votes are in.

GOod God I hate CNN's political coverage. A box of useless tools they are.

For what it's worth, MSNBC's election coverage is a hell of a lot better than CNN's. They call the races a lot earlier, they have a better panel that actually does political analysis (instead of just revisiting the county-by-county maps over and over), they get better people to interview, and you don't have to listen to Wolf Blitzer. :2razz:

I think where history will show where Romney came up short, was the fact he did not spend nearly enough time pointing out the fact Obama is left-handed. Instead of tackling this glaring deficit of Obama's time in the White House, he chose to go with crap like national security and the economy as his focal points.

I don't like their op-ed's but their coverage of events is till top notch IMO.

Blitzer is one of those people where everyone can come together and agree that he should be kicked in the nuts.

I was thinking about that. For all the bitching and whining about Washington, the House and Senate remain much the same and we re-elected the same president. That's like complaining about getting your running game stuffed all game long, and then calling a dive play behind the center.

Ohio an 80,000 lead now, 56% in.

Note: Pundits are not the network. Florida is not to my knowledge been called yet.

AGreed. They need to drop their political punditry and just cover event news.

I believe in off years the political power brokers practice with single dollars at the establishments with dancing poles.

2016 will see $4B spent. The cost doubles pretty much every cycle.
