Good point. That said, I think its ridiculous that someone should get that honor simply for being a celebrity. To me it cheapens it.

The very basis of what forms the views of a conservative are love of G-d, love of family which includes your neighbor and love of country. Conservatives recognize our inalienable rights, for all people, do not come from government but from G-d just as the Founders articulated. They recognize in order for a free Republic set up for the people and by the people, that people need to be educated and possess a basic moral compass for it to succeed. They recognize the shortcomings of all humanity but each day one should strive to do their best. Conservatives believe in individualism, personal responsibility and the rule of law. They believe in small government for the larger government is allowed to grow , our basic rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are in jeopardy of being denied. The Constitution protects those rights. However, it is subject to corruption by corrupt politicians and is why there is a constant battle to maintain its first principles.

It has been a lot of years since I listened to Rush Limbaugh in the car. The man was able to articulate his political views and back them up using the Constitution and the writings of the Founders. He had a great sense of humor and used it to point out the hypocrisies not just on the left but on the right as well. I remember back then he never believed in boycotting a company or person over their political views. Today we are dealing with this hideous thing called Cancel Culture over political speech which if not stopped will be the end of this country.

This thread was started over the governor of Florida, a place Rush Limbaugh called home, lowering the flag to half-staff in honor of one of their own. I get it you and others on this forum despised the man. Well there are millions in this country who do not share your opinion.

Rush was still a vile, dishonest, conspiracy-spreading, hate and fear-monger with no integrity and is an example of so many things a human being should never be.

Like I said most people I personally know and associate with are ALL way better human beings than Rush ever was.

They are MORE honest, caring, humble, respectful, genuine, good-spirited, educated and have more integrity. They are LESS vindictive, racist, bigoted, misogynistic, homophobic, evil and do less fear-mongering by spreading hate, lies and conspiracies. Most of them are what people SHOULD be.

So thoughts and prayers to the people that loved Rush, losing loved ones is tough, of course I know I lost my mom to the same sickness. His “SHOWS” however and the hate, lies and fear-mongering in them won’t be missed by anybody honest, educated and objective with a good heart and human decency.

To think of him as a good person takes one of 3 things, topical ignorance, dishonesty and or shared hate/bigotry . . . theres no other options 🤷‍♂️😁

In a free society where choice is valued, no one forces others to value anything. Most everything is subjective in nature...

Am I supposed to just brush away decades of his toxic crap just because the asshole died? No way Jose. You make the bed now lie it in, deader than a doornail. Why in the hell would anyone outside of his ditto mob want to respect this piece of trash? Whats next, honoring David Duke when he bites the dust?
