On the other hand, great atmosphere in the NI-Poland and Germany-Ukraine games.
The Turks could stand to learn a song or two though.

I'm aware of the danger of wandering into "no true Scotsman" territory, but banning teams for the actions of violent thugs who merely use the event to literally get their kicks, and care nothing about the team or their supporters, seems wrong.
dude a lot of them were at the stadium, the flare that was shot at english fans and the brawling were in the stadium. Clearly they do care about the team and they are the supporters. The only way to ensure safety is to have the game without spectators, other than player family, or to ban the teams altogether
As far as outside the stadium, france or future hosts should deny british and russian nationals entry into the country during tournaments
Pathetic... were those people in wheelchairs clashing with French and Russian ultras & fans before the match or booing the Russian anthem and shouting obscenities at the Russian fans?!? English thugs just finally met their idiotic match, yet now instead of accepting that you decide to whine about it and play the "victims bullied by ebil Russians" card.
Fallen.
You really are totally delighted that your ultras humiliated and intimidated families with kids and English fans in wheelchairs. Nice! Those thugs in the stadium didn't take on the hooligans, they took on the family stand, leaving the English thugs and neo-Nazis to drink more and plan further mayhem. But if that's all a great victory for you, "meeting their idiotic match", then enjoy your great patriotic victory.
“I don’t see anything wrong with the fans fighting,” Igor Lebedev wrote on Twitter. “Quite the opposite, well done lads, keep it up!”
Lebedev, who sits on the executive committee of the Russian football union, is an MP from the nationalist Liberal Democratic party and the deputy chairman of the Russian parliament.
“I don’t understand those politicians and officials who are criticising our fans. We should defend them, and then we can sort it out when they come home,” Lebedev wrote in a series of tweets.
“What happened in Marseille and in other French towns is not the fault of fans, but about the inability of police to organise this kind of event properly.”
Well, for a long time it looked as though Ireland vs. Zlatan wasn't really the way for the Swedes to tailor their game. For the moment that seems to be working though.Great goal. Sweden have been abysmal though.

Talk about a dominant display from Spain.. the Czechs were 15 men behind the ball and defending for their lives. The goalkeeper was amazing as usual, but in the end they had to give. Utterly deserved win for Spain.
I and many others thought Spain were awful. So boring and will get ripped apart by teams with some actual pace.
Well we have to disagree there.... They were far superior than the Czechs and should have won much more.
England should of beat Russia as well, doesn't mean they were good.
No one has really stood out for me yet.
