Unfortunate to say the least. Actually, it's downright crude.

Prejudice is alive and well when it comes to overweight individuals, but especially girls.

I don't know about a lawsuit, but I certainly wouldn't have a problem with the firing of the person responsible.

I don't think you can sue someone or a business for calling you fat.

Grossly obese individuals have their lack of self control to blame and encouraging massive weight gain by pretending that this isn't a serious issue in our Country is dishonest.

It does have an effect on our health industry as premiums pile up for healthy individuals while obese individuals chew their way into a handi-cap.

Time to get real people. Type 2 diabetees is at plague proportions in the states.

Yea.. its a descriptive term. I don't see the big deal. People probably describe me as skinny guy. I'm skinny. It doesn't hurt my feelings. Why does someone describing you as fat hurt your feelings if you are fat? And before you say its because no one thinks its bad, gross, or abnormal, try being a 6 ft tall 135 lb white male. I'm not saying its cool to walk up to people and make fun of them for things, but if you are trying to describe someone so you can recognize them later, thats different. I think these fat girls need to grow up. You give the guy the finger, maybe talk to his boss because its bad customer service, but you don't call the news and whine. That just makes things worse

I always got out of jury duty I was in court so fricken often anyway.....I do have a point to make...it seems alot of people in this thread with identifying the three women as fat girls...how about if the same restaurant identified 3 gay people in a negative way like three homos or the 3 or 3 black people in a negative way..would that be ok too ?

Obesity isn't because of "glandular" issues or things that are beyond anyones control.

I'm 6'6" and 245 pounds and I've been exercising since I was 5 by some form or fashion.

I dont eat trash, junk food and eat in moderation.

People need to get it through their heads that food is fuel.

Not a crutch or a hobby. Its fuel for the body.

As a Conservative I'm pretty dead against any added tax's but their shpuld be a fat tax added into the health premiums of every obese individual.

You want lower rates, take better care of your selfs.

Like car ins. You drive like a crazy person your rates are going to be high.

Yea...If the 3 gay men were dressed very flamboyantly to where the guys distinguished themselves by their own choice of attair or the 3 black men were the only group of black men in there so a server could identify them because they in fact are a group of 3 black men, yes that would be perfectly fine. Its not rude to point out that a person is black. What are you getting at here?

The point is, while it may be stupid customer service, its just a descriptive term. Nothing to get all up in arms about. The only reason why its on the news is because its funny, not because the news thinks we should feel bad for these girls.

Quoted for truth. Complications from obesity are costing this country a fortune so don't act like its a victimless act to be fat. I was blessed with a high metabolism that kept me very skinny for the first 25 years of my life. Now I have to exercise and eat right to keep from gaining weight. I can't believe how many perfect strangers come up and scoff at me for eating a salad because I'm not fat. Its a commonly held idea especially in lower income area that its healthy to be a little overweight. Its not. So I'm going to continue to eat my salads and run so I don't get diabetes.

"I got the bill, I was looking at bill [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say 'fat girls?'" customer Christine Duran said.

The friends had dined out at the Stockton, Calif., restaurant, which is a part of the Cameo Casino Restaurant, on Thursday. The bill lists charges for three tri-tips with fries and three sodas, for a total of $25.50. A bartender named Jeff had apparently typed in "Fat Girls" to keep track of their bill.

When Duran asked a manager for an explanation, he "had like a smirk on his face, like it was funny but trying not to laugh," she said.

you can discriminate for a good reason, a bad reason or no reason at all as long as its not an ILLEGAL (ie race sex, gender, national origin, age or disability) reason. Being a porker is not a protected status nor should it ever be
