In fact, Tesla considered exporting EVs from China to the U.S. I can’t see him exporting cars from here to there, since the Chinese exact tariffs on foreign-made vehicles. Tesla is the only auto manufacturer that wasn’t forced to give up an ownership stake to a Chinese entity in order to produce vehicles there, such were they eager to get him to manufacture in China. One can only presume to know why.
