No, Alex Jones is a hero! How else would we have known about the guberment's plan to create a gay bomb? How else would we have learned about the arsenic and cyanide in our water? How else would we have learned that Obama is the Anti-Christ and will soon establish himself as the Emperor of Earth?

I support hate crime laws because if you've spent any time with individuals from marginalized communities, you know how keenly hate crimes are felt by everyone. If an average joe is killed, people may become scared for their safety, but they won't become scared of being singled out because of an inborn trait.

If a gay person is beaten up for being gay on a street and the perps aren't caught, then suddenly it becomes unsafe to display you're gay on that street, because "what if". If the cops release a statement saying that gay people should be aware that homophobic attackers are on the loose, a straight person reading that will think, "I'm safe from attack", while a gay person might be given the impression that they better hide who they are or else. That's how hate crimes divide people.

I'm an American relocated to Canada, and I support Canada's hate speech and crime laws. I like living in a country where the KKK and neo-nazis aren't allowed to hold marches. It's like giving them marketing opportunities. The less press they're given the less power they'll have.

Also, it's just a fact that there are conservative cops who are less likely to go the mile if they're investigating a marginalized person's assault or murder. Hate crime laws create double-redundancy to ensure due process actually happens, unlike the good old days.

Did you know that straight men have no good reason to care if they find out later their partner is in fact a man? I mean, ahem, a transsexual? Well apparently to some members here men shouldn't care about such things. After all, the only difference between a MTF and a woman is that one can't have children.
