I know it happens. I'm just trying to flesh out where people who have staked a claim stand on it. One guy ric has thrown in with a post that the special prosecutor HAD to press charges to "appease" (his word not mine) the black community. At first Eighty seem to back that assertion up and I'm just trying to find out if that is what position he wants to take. He's been rather slippery about it up to now at least.

Whether it's to appease the black community or some politician I don't know. But I agree with them that at least some of the reason for this DA to be pressing the charges is due to political pressure. But again, be it actual politicians or the "black community" or whatever I don't know.

To add to the political reasons.....

Its not usual for prosecutors to have a press conference to announce charges against someone either.......... like a dog and pony show.

Based on the evidence that I personally currently know via various news sources I would have to say that Zimmerman killed Martin in self defense, as such he should be let go.

But then I am quite willing to admit that I don't know all of the evidence and as such I could be wrong.

I can respect that you gave yourself room there unlike a handful of others who keep the comedic level high by making definitive declarations rather than admitting that they are merely making a best guess with what little evidence that we have so far.

That is not justice.

Justice will be served in trial...one way or another. But, until someone is charged there can be no trial.

Thats the purpose of an investigation.... not a trial.

When you go to trial to prosecute someone, you need to KNOW what happened. If a prosecutor isn't convinced beyond a reasonable doubt about the guilt or innocence of a defendant... they shouldn't bring the case forward.




You don't charge someone and THEN investigate... That is stupid.

The trial is indeed, an advanced form of investigation...as testimony under oath is provided often leading to further Data.

Sadly with how much this thing has already been tried in the media it's going to be a difficult time finding a full and impartial jury

Didn't say impossible, I said difficult. I'd say this is closer to OJ level of difficulty then Casey Anthony as well. Casey's trial really started getting massive national attention outside of just tabloids it seems towards the end.

OJ is a good analog as it transcended from just tabloids or even just news to pop culture right from the near beginning which is similar to what's occured here in the Travyon case. I mean, you had Congressman wearing hoodies protesting on the floor of the Congress already.

They'll definitely be able to find people. There's people who are just disconnected and don't really pay attention to this stuff regardless. I'm just saying it's going to be a difficult time with jury selection due to how big and sensationalized this got so fast.

Common sense is not saying that the cops are corrupt just because you think they are. Common sense is when you state something as a fact you provide the evidence that it IS a fact when asked to do so instead of just disparaging others.

Common sense is not saying that because Trayvon was black you think he was about to commit a crime the night he was murdered.

Common sense is when you are able to back up your statements instead of posting TM pics and then claiming that as evidence to your racist drivel.

I think that I could be fair and impartial even though I have been exposed to info from all these sources irl.
I suspect that there're others like me. I don't think I am all that exceptional.
I have no data to back any of that up. I might be wrong on all those counts I s'pose.

Yes, that may be true, but it only takes Those like the Fox News and Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage...etc. to rile up the whites enough to riot.

There's no doubt that this killing was going to swept under the rug until pressure from the community brough it to light. Is that what you mean? Do you think it was right to sweep it under the rug?
Do you know that Trayvon had not one mark on his body except the bullet hole? How could that be if there was even a shred of truth to the self-defense claim?
