Jack Kevorkian: 'Dr. Death' Jack Kevorkian Dies at 83 - ktla.com
DETROIT -- Dr. Jack Kevorkian has died at the age of 83, according the Detroit Free Press, who spoke with his lawyer.
Kevorkian died at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where he had been hospitalized for about two weeks with kidney and heart problems, attorney Mayer Morganroth told the newspaper.
Morganroth said it appears Kevorkian suffered a pulmonary thrombosis when a blood clot from his leg broke free and lodged in his heart. With Kevorkian were his niece Ava Janus and Morganroth.
My only regret here is that he died before he had a chance to "help out" George Bush and Barack Obama.
The man was a hero, giving compassion to the suffering that our perverse, profit-driven healthcare system would not allow.
IMO, it is not the health care system fault, but political views that had him in a bad light.

The guy was a crazy, egotistical nut, not some hero. Good riddance.
We spend more money on healthcare in the last 18 years of our lives than the entire rest of them, and almost all of that is completely pointless. You think the hospital industry is going to give up those profits?
He died of complications from pneumonia. Wonder why he didn't use his own invention if he was so "principled".

He didn't want to die, and pneumonia isn't terminal.
June 15, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com)—"The single worst moment of my life* . . . was the moment I was born." So says Dr. Jack Kevorkian in a recent interview with CNN.

However, when it comes to himself, Kevorkian says that he is not ready to die. "I have purpose in my life and three missions," he said.
The first mission is to warn the human race of its “impending doom,” due to what Gupta labels a “culture of overabundance” that will lead to the “extinction” of the human race.
The second mission is to educate people about assisted suicide, or what Kevorkian calls “patholysis”– the destruction of suffering.
The third mission is “to convince the American public that their rights are infringed upon each and every day - and that the Ninth Amendment is not being upheld.”
I don't intend on rotting away from some ungodly condition when I'm older - I've seen countless people just break down, degenerate, and ultimately die . . .all the while knowing it was coming and wanting to die sooner than later to forgo the misery. . . and modern medicine has a horrible tendency of just prolonging the suffering.
I most certain don't want to experience that.
Suicide sounds dandy to me - I supported Kavorkian and think it's offensive that people would prefer another person suffer ad naseum when they, themselves, aren't going to be the ones to clean out the colostomy bag or treat the bedsores.
"They just don't get it in Oregon, " he says. "Or in Washington state or Montana, the other states," where assisted suicide is currently legal.* Assisted suicide is only legal in these states if someone has a terminal illness.
"What difference does it make if someone is terminal?" he says. "We are all terminal."*
Five of Kevorkian's victims were found to be healthy after autopsies were performed.
I think Jack Kevorkian did important, pioneering work on our natural right to die that future Americans will recognize him for. As is often the case with revolutionary thinkers, his personality too often interfered with his message.
