Vote and tell us why! I'm not including the mom and pop stores because this is a nationwide/international poll.

I wish you had put other in your poll.
I like good mom and pop bakeries who don't cut corners to serve the best pastries; doughnuts.
Sadly, they are getting harder and harder to find.

This thread is about donut chains, how many times do I have to tell you that? :hammer:

I've never seen any chains other than Dunkin' and Krispy Kreme.

There's not much better in the world than the "Hot Donuts Now" sign when it's on at the Krispy Kreme.

The only thing that runs a close second is Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

So yeah - give me a Krispy Kreme donut for breakfast with a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and I've got the best of both worlds.

I mentioned doughnuts in my post. :doh

OK, just pretend that mom and pop stores dont exist, and tell us which of these five chains you would go to...

The only chains I am familiar with are Krispy Kreme and Dunkin’. I by far prefer the light, airy style of Krispy Kreme donuts to the thick, cakey style Dunkin’ makes.

None, hence why you needed an other category.
I don't like corporate pizza so why would I like corporate doughnuts?
Stop being such a binary thinker.......

Krispy Kreme has the best glazed donuts of the bunch but, not being a huge consumer of donuts, when I'm going to splurge that means going top shelf and top shelf means local, not chain.

Nothing beats Duck Donuts, they make them fresh to order in front of you. It's like always catching Krispy Kreme when the fresh batch light is on.

Their Chocolate Bacon w/ syrup is to die for.

How about regional chains not mentioned? :2razz:

There's a general store around here, Casey's, that has the best donuts by far.

But if I have to go with your options, Dunkins. I probably like it the best because it's the closest and for some reason they always hook it up there.

And the best donut is a chocolate cake donut with sprinkles. I don't know what the other donut kind is called besides a cake but whatever it is, it's an abomination.

Look, dude. If I included other, then everyone would vote for it. Mom and pop stores are clearly better, but since no other member of this forum would live near you then the poll and discussion would be pointless.

I am a dudette, but I think if you had an "other category" for your poll, your poll results would be much more honest.
I don't know why you object to those of us who think out of the corporate box???

Oh well, to each their own doughnut. ;)

My favorite too, and at least a regional chain - I'm in Tennessee, Duck started I think in Duck NC on the Outer Banks.

They're roughly across the street from the local Krispy Kreme and there's no reason to ever go back, Hot Now sign on or off. If they're not on the way, there are two local shops on the way to our frequent hiking and biking area that we go to. :peace

I like donuts but I am not going to run to any particular donut chain store. I think daylight donuts was the last chain I went to and that was years ago. I ate more donuts from local donut stores, QuickTrips and Walmarts than I have an actual donut stores.

I have never once in my entire life ever been to a chain donut store... well unless one considers a chain grocery store's bakery.

My grandmother made the absolute best maple bars.

There are 2 types of donuts, cake and yeast. Yeast donuts are lighter and fluffy, cake are just that, cake, thick and heavy.

Only knowing 3 of the brands myself I'm partial to the brand that is near me, of the 5 only Dunkin is near me, KK has a few stores but out of the way for me, Tim Hortons are not around at all but I've had their product while on vacation. I'll stick with DD.

Then I guess I am a yeast man. :)

Nothing wrong with that, drop a French cruller into a microwave for a quick warm up 5-10 seconds and it will melt in your mouth. I was manager of 4 DD's for 3 years or so.

I only ate at Dunkin and Krispy and Ill take dunkn every time. they are REAL doughnuts. Maybe its a regional thing but whats funny is Krispies werent around here for a long time. You used to hear so much about them. Then they put in a bunch of stores, there were LINES and LINES . . . . . couple years later the 2 stores by me closed LOL . . dont know how the other ones did. I know around here i never seen a dunkin close, more have only opened.

Dunkin. Even though lately they don't seem to sell donuts anymore. A lot of their places sell fewer and fewer Donuts. But I still like their powdered and cinnamon, when I can find them.

None. Donuts are evil. I hate them. Though one of my daughter's friends brought me a blueberry donut the other day. I only ate it because I didn't want to hurt the very considerate young lady's feelings.

Think it was Dunkin Donuts. Damned thing was tasty. But evil.

I may be wrong, but DD doesn't make a blueberry donut. A muffin perhaps, but not a donut that I recall.

I’m obligated to vote for Tim Hortons because I’m a Canuck.
I haven’t had any of the other’s product at all. My wife swears by Krispy Kreme, says they are top shelf.
