How about some of this..

How could I forget that track!!!!

-- Now this tune and the parachute pants --

We called them "big dump" pants... as they looked like the wearer had um.. been caught short on the way to the toilet pants. :3oops:

Now, in your first link I caught a black and white section that looked like this classic video. I think it was about the 10th time I watched this I actually started to notice Robert Palmer singing. :3oops:

-- Musical geniuses having fun.

Spud, you always seem to choose videos that don't have the title / artist on the still and they don't play here in the UK - so I often can't find the track for myself. Who was this please?

Hmm, works for me fine, how odd.

It was The Cat Empire singing Hello Hello

And making a guitar sing: Django Reinhardt (wish he were alive now with modern recording technology)

Yum. Love those hollow bodies... Chet Atkins was a great as well. I love this pic of the reissue 59 Gretsch he used…

Gretsch 1959 Chet Atkins.webp

Apologies if this is ‘promotional’, but it took me 8 years to find a CD copy of this album after I wore out the cassette. I put the whole album up on YT a while back. If you like psychedelic rock/pop, you’ll probably dig this guy, Mark Mikel.

I don’t think I win any prizes for ‘hits’ on my uploads, I’m not trying to hype my YT ‘channel’ either, so don’t be ascared… It wasn’t out there yet, and it’s a great album, IMO.

Here’s a little taste.

Holy Roly

Your Artificial Stand-up Man

Here’s a playlist of the album, in order, for those interested.

This vintage of music, reminds me of Les Paul. Am I totally off though, about that?

Thirty years ago we lost Harry Chapin, he died in a car accident on the LI Expressway. RIP Harry you’re still missed.

ain't this the truth and to be honest, 6 months later I quit driving over the road and I am now home every night.

Ps..this is no sh!t too;)

Donc just reminded my of this tune

Whiles were down south; remember when this tune came out (1987)? I was running for Jones Truck Line at the time and was going into the New Orleans terminal when that little girl (“Baby Jessica.”) fell/got stuck in the well.

For the next three nights it seems like whenever Seminole wind would come on the Radio it would be followed by an update of Baby Jessica. Sooo…whenever I hear Seminole Wind brings up the happy thought of “Baby Jessica’s”) successful rescue. Kinda a win, win, for this ole trucker.:2wave:

My favorite. This clip is a bit long, but it's fun to see him.

It's hard to find a regular version of this tune. Darnit.

OMG, I didn't know she could sing! WOW!

I couldn't think what to post when I saw this earlier, then it came to me. Bette is awesome! :)

This is a wonderful clip of her singing as the last guest on Carson. The minutes prior to her song are fun. Slide to 1:06 if you want to skip to the song.

What a wonderful voice, singers such as Bette only come along was in a while in her style.

Which for the moment will bring me just off topic for a second, thanks to Gina this ran through my head as well. I would like to tell all here how much I use to enjoy Johnny Carson and his impressive guests, although before my time. I grew to like him and his style of humor.

She's rarity! She caught my attention when she released this in the early 70's. I couldn't get enough of her after that. The video looks distorted, but it is the best clip, musically, I could find.

Carson was "the man". I didn't get to see him regularly until I was an adult, but the DVD compilation set caught me up, somewhat anyway. That is a terrific clip! :)
