We're Going to Give Away Artillery Which We Cannot Spare! Why?

Because it's not our place to be involved, it runs the risk of escalating the war to what end we don't know, and it is causing greater human loss than saving. Add in that Ukraine isn't being run by an amazingly moral government that deserves all the adulation it's getting is just garnish next to the steak.
Putin apologists.

Isn't that the problem. Those guns have probably been all pointing south all these years.
Most of us in the states are quiet fond of Canada. Yes quiet. People here in the states, don't like to be reminded of Canada's superior health care system. They get rather
pissy about it.

What a ridiculous false equivalence.

Even the right wing Trump supporting talking heads like Hannity know the difference. Hannity just referred to Putin as "evil in our lifetime,".
Saudi Arabia, North Korea, China, ect are all easily worse. Ukraine has been committing war crimes and human rights violations since 2014 and have literal Nazi groups officially adopted into their military. They aren't some jewel that needs to be defended.
It is always our place to oppose evil.
It's a big world full of humans. There will always be evil. We can't even pay our own bills, let alone have the right or the means to police the entire world.

You are repeating Russian propaganda.

Just curious, where do you pick that up?

Pointing out the fact that the Azov thugs are Nazis(hell, nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera has his own holiday) is not “Russian propaganda”.

I'm repeating facts. It's not my fault people are dumb****s that literally don't know jackshit so they think everything they aren't aware of is Russian propaganda.

Do you think Russia attacked Ukraine to save them from nazis?

It is propaganda. Ukraine has fewer domestic neo-Nazis than Russia does. Ukraine has a democratically elected Jewish leader whose great-grandparents were massacred by Nazis. Why would it need to be "liberated" from Nazis?

Putin is promoting disinformation to justify his failing attempt to conquer Ukraine. And you fell for it.

Facts you don’t like aren’t “propaganda”, no matter how much it hurts your feelings.

Yes, and they celebrate Nazi collaborators— like the aforementioned Bandera— as national heroes. The Azov thugs were literally created, in the words of their founder, to “led the white races in a crusade against the Semite led Untermenschen”. It’s the equivalent of the KKK being incorporated into the US military.

You can’t defend the Azov thugs and cry about the alt right here in America, because they are precisely the same.

Do you think Russia attacked Ukraine to save them from nazis?
No. They did it for geo-political reasons. Their invasion has nothing to do with going after Nazis in Ukraine or any such nonsense.

No, it's the equivalent of Republicans being incorporated into the US military. That a small number of them are sometimes found to be neo-Nazis is unfortunate, but there are no "Nazi battalions" fighting for Ukraine. The Azov regiment was once known for supporting far right nationalist views, but most soldiers join it now because of its renown in battle. Few of them are actually Nazis. And there are Nazis in the Russian military as well. Ever heard of the Sparta Battalion? They have neo-Nazi members fighting for Russia in Ukraine. How are they different than the Azov battalion, other than they fight for opposite sides?

Uh....no. Not even close. You can say what you want about Republicans, but claiming the entire party is akin to literal Nazis is sheer partisan hackers, nothing more.

It’s not a “small number”; it’s the literal reason why the group was created. They’ve committed a boatload of war crimes as well, and former Azov thugs have repeatedly attacked Romani and other minorities with total impunity.

That’s like arguing “most Germans were fighting to defend their homes!”. It’s a pathetic excuse that can’t change the fact that the Azov thugs are literal Nazis and their ideology is utterly vile....much like the original Nazis.

Your own source literally admits that they are Nazis, “but prepared for combat ones” as if that somehow excuses their ideology.

From, again, your own source

“ The Azov group's media presence, in particular, made it something of a magnet for far-right minded people abroad, Kuzmenko said, with foreign men seeking to join the militia to gain combat experience. In a report for the investigative group Bellingcat, Kuzmenko and Ukrainian organizations found links between the Azov Battalion and white supremacist groups in the U.S.”

SOSAD.

Good.

That's a start. Especially because we have more nazis in the US then they do in Ukraine.

Because it's not our place to be involved,
Who decides that?
it runs the risk of escalating the war to what end we don't know,
Didn't you guys just spend 2+ years telling us that risk is an unavoidable part of life?
and it is causing greater human loss than saving.
Well, yes. If everyone just surrendered to the Russians, nobody would get hurt. Ronald Reagan must be spinning in his grave.
Add in that Ukraine isn't being run by an amazingly moral government that deserves all the adulation it's getting is just garnish next to the steak.
It's run by a comedian.

Today "Field Marshal Justin Trudeau" announced that Canada will be sending some of its 155mm Guns to Ukraine. We have prescious few 155mm guns (37 of them), not even two regiments worth of them. Nonetheless Trudeau is giving some away to Ukraine. Why aren't we giving Ukraine LAVs which we can make here rather than artillery which we bought at a very pretty penny from the UK and are in very short supply of? This is dumb. The dauphin strikes again!

Oy Vey!
Evilroddy.

What happens to all the weapons in Ukraine if and when Zelensky finally surrenders, or Ukraine is successfully invaded?
Russia gets them.

Well since the Canuck Army is mostly staffed by squirrels, they dont need something as big as those artillery pieces anyway, so why not give it to the ones who need them the most.

Obviously you didn't read a word I said. The very crux of my argument is that you can't paint all Republicans as Nazis just because there indisputably are a few here and there.

And so with Ukraine. Ukraine does not have a Nazi problem any more than the Republican Party or Russia does. There are a few neo-Nazis fighting on the side of Ukraine. There are also a few neo-Nazis in the US military. And there are neo-Nazis fighting on the side of Russia. But pointing out a few and using that to paint the whole country as being infested with Nazis in order to create a pretext for invasion is clearly propaganda that can only fool those incapable of thinking critically, especially when the president of Ukraine is Jewish.

Anyone who supports the Russian people and the Russian way of life should not be supporting Vladimir Putin. He has sacrificed the future prosperity of the Russian people for a vanity war with Ukraine. If you think the Russian blood that has been spilled so far is regrettable, wait until Russia experiences a few years as a global pariah. Putin's poor judgment and ruthlessness will haunt Russia for generations.

Only fools incapable of critical thinking think “but....but....but.....the other side does it toooooo” is an excuse for supporting literal Neo Nazis. Howling about “propaganda” because you don’t want to face up to what Azov is can’t change the facts, and given that Ukriane continues to celebrate Nazi collaborators like Stepan Bandera as national heroes.....the words “playing right into Putin’s hands” come to mind.

😂

“Global pariah” my ass. Most of the globe doesn’t want to get involved. South Africa, China, and India— to name just a few major nations—have continued on as normal in regards to their dealings with Russia. The western fantasy that “the globe” blindly follows whatever NATO member countries think is really, really dumb

I imagine it is a similar story with new zealand and australia. It's like having a bigger but dumber friend constantly hanging around. They can be a pain sometimes but you still have to love them. I am sure the canadians feel the same about americans. :)

The VERY few countries still supporting Russia also support North Korea. If becoming the next North Korea is the goal of the Russian people, then more power to them.

Numerous countries have abstained, which, as I pointed out, means that they don’t want to get involved.....and that’s all Russia really needs. Claiming that “they’re the next North Korea” is silly when China and India, to name just two examples, are still more than happy to engage with the Russians.
