Well, so much for those deportation quotas, MAGAns!

Not for the current compensation and/or working conditions offered. Employers (job creators?) are apt to offer little (or no) more than what’s required to attract and retain qualified labor.
So who do you think will be paying for that higher labor cost?

Why do they have an ID when they register, but not have an ID when they cast their ballot?
Because they are committing voter fraud.
Or because perhaps their ID may have expired and they didn’t get a chance to renew t because they didn’t have the time/money to do such 🤷‍♀️

By the end of his last term cons will start the "i never really liked Trump" gaslighting, just like they did with bush, mccain & romney

Lol, this guy. Wonder who was the last in the room with Trump? Stephen Miller is going to be livid!

So first it was focusing on criminals. Then, to meet quotas, ICE started arresting, detaining, and deporting people who weren't criminals, many who have come under asylum regulations.

But now it seems some rich Republicans are complaining they don't have enough cheap labor so perhaps Trump can help with that?

Lol.

The people who love illegal immigration the most are rich Republicans and Democrats; Republicans want the cheap labor and Democrats want the cheap votes.

Mark

Trump promised to deport illegals. Yes, he said they would start with the criminals, but he never said they would hesitate to deport any illegal. And that's what the people voted for.

Employers who can't produce a I-9 for every employee should be prosecuted. I have no problem with focusing on violent criminals but we can't ignore this lawless segment indefinitely. Medicaid is in jeopardy from the drain on resources. There are legal ways to have migrant workers. Successfully avoiding deportation, even for decades, should not be rewarded.

But now he's saying they're not going to deport the "good workers". Is that what you voted for?

There are quite a few people driving in our cities with no driver's license, vehicle registration, or insurance. I'd like to see it better enforced, but the police prioritize more severe crimes as they should.

Victims of ‘hit and run’ damage and/or injuries would likely differ. It also drives up insurance costs for other (legal) drivers.

There's a similar prioritization that makes sense for immigration. Target criminals first, then the people living off government assistance without contributing, and then they should focus on fixing the system that allows employers to exploit the people working within the broken system. The latter often have families, pay taxes, and improve our economy. I don't think they're the problem.

There’s little point of intentionally not arresting of an illegal alien (currently encountered and identified) simply because other illegal (higher priority?) aliens may exist. That’s like saying ignore arresting vandals or shoplifters (at hand) since more serious crimes are being committed by others.

Some leftists here support concentration camps.
Oh - don’t mistake my “ding ding” for support.

I’m merely pointing out the angle that will likely be taken by this disgusting Administration.

A for profit concentration camp system seems very Trump-esque.

As a victim of both in our state, I don't disagree, but law enforcement only has so much bandwidth. I may not like it, but I understand it.

You missed the point entirely.

If you have a cancerous mass that is causing wounds to fester on the surface, do you treat the wounds and ignore the cancerous mass, or do you remove the cancerous mass while also treating the wounds? Do you prioritize tissue that is not healing, or tissue that already has some cellular regeneration?

I'm not arguing ignoring illegal immigrants entirely, but the bigger issues should be addressed with higher priority, and not all illegal immigrants are the same. Some are well trained and providing valuable labor, and replacing them can be more costly than helping them find a legal path to continue providing that labor while also being given the protections they deserve as workers.

The only American president to create concentration camps was a Democrat.

Disappointed he didn't end it with "thanks for your attention to this matter".
:)

Wait, so is it largely criminals who are applying for jobs in agriculture and hospitality industries? What an odd set of criminals who want to keep regular jobs. I thought the whole point of being a criminal was to avoid having a "regular job".
Crime purely as a supplemental source of income.

Well apparently Trump has decided to not deport farm workers now. Seems the large corporate farms got to him. Next it will be meat packers and hotel workers!
