Well, so much for those deportation quotas, MAGAns!

That rewards those foreign nationals who willingly broke federal law (including their employers), by letting them get jobs (or ‘discount’ labor) many others who have respect for our laws would like to have.

BTW, becoming “fully trained” for many of these jobs takes only a few days of OJT.

On-the-Job Training:
  • Duration: Varies depending on the specific role and employer, but often involves a shorter, more informal training period.
  • Format: Primarily focuses on learning practical skills through direct work experience.
  • Examples: Construction laborers, helpers, and some less specialized roles.

Got it, so be vindictive towards the people who were likely lured here under false pretenses. How sad for them.

"OJT might make some jobs easier to fill, but that doesn’t account for experience, reliability, or industry-specific knowledge that workers build over time. Many undocumented workers are deeply embedded in industries that rely on them, making their removal disruptive, regardless of how quickly someone new could, in theory, be trained."

The employers are the ones who deserve to be punished, not the people who were tricked. I do not agree with that at all. Legislation should retroactively handle the former while protecting the latter.

Yep, thus we need an eVerify mandate, coupled with changes to the FIT code, allowing the IRS to act as the primary enforcement mechanism.

The idea that foreign nationals who broke the law shouldn’t suffer the consequences for having done so is ridiculous. The ‘job creators’ who were using illegal alien labor will suffer the disruption, those extra training costs and very likely have to offer better compensation (to all workers) in order to attract and retain legal labor.

I still disagree, but it's likely a pipe dream either way. Our government has a very poor track record for holding corporations accountable for anything, e.g. 2008 and 2020. I don't see our representatives doing anything that might impact their donors.

Yep, the donor class would take a hit with the resulting increased training and labor costs. IMHO, most US workers would benefit and should vote accordingly.

The corrupt Democrat Party allowed millions of unvetted poor third world people to invade our country just to have more voters.
The far left is a threat to our sovereignty.
Democrats are a threat to democracy.
Oh poor people do you think poor people should be gotten rid of?

Which includes deporting (all) illegal aliens.

If, after careful scrutiny (what some are calling due process), a person is found to be an illegal alien then they should be deported. Anything short of that is granting them amnesty for their (past) illegal entry or ‘temporary’ visa overstay. Giving them line jumping or head of line status to gain permission to become legalized (a reward for having been here illegally?) is ridiculous.
The granting of work visa's doesn't much matter to me whether or not they go to the people already here, or to deport those who came illegally, and then grant increased work visas to new workers.
If we decide to deport all of them, that is fine. As long as we realize that new workers will be needed, immediately and have a plan in place to grant those work visas in a hurry.
On some construction or landscaping crews it’s higher than 30%, but that’s what keeps wages and fringe benefits for those occupations down for all such workers. For those used to third-world pay and living conditions a lower wage working in the US is a significant improvement over what they could make working in their third-world homelands.

Again, that amounts to a reward for their current illegal alien status.

I have a difficult time following your concerns. You are against people being here illegally and being treated poorly, not having work safety and fair wages. I'm with you so far on that. What I do not understand is this stance to kick these people out of our country because they're here illegally. That seems like adding insult to injury. These people broke minor laws, and sure, why have laws if we don't enforce them, but kicking people out who did work in good faith, likely in hopes of building a life here and becoming citizens in the future, seems wrong to me.

What I view your argument as is laws have no wiggle room, therefore deport everyone here illegally even if they:
  • Have built a life here with their families.
  • Have been treated poorly through unsafe working conditions.
  • Have been treated poorly through unfair wages.

Excuse me if the above confuses me, but why would you be against treating people poorly and then turn around and treat them poorly?
If I rob a bank, and use the money to build a life here, get married, have kids, go to work etc...

Do I get a stay, from robbing the bank?

Ultimately that is what this comes down to. Do we reward the people who chose the illegal path over others who have chosen the legal one.

My concern earlier is a simple one: If we want economic growth, those workers are needed. We are going to need to increase those that can come legally but I have no problem kicking those who came here illegally, out.

Another poor analogy. Robbing a bank does a lot more harm than crossing an imaginary line into our country. You and @ttwtt78640 miss the precedent that has already been set and the way many corporations recruit illegal immigrants. Many didn't come here illegally with the intent to break the law. They were misled, pressured, or given little choice but to accept unstable employment. Illegal workers are the symptom, not the cause of the system’s dysfunction. We should be addressing corporations and their exploitation while reforming our inadequate immigration systems.

How are you defining harm? Say I rob and bank and cause no physical harm. Good analogy then. Both things listed cause economic harm to someone.

Have you talked to any of them?

I employ hundreds, and I can tell you unequivocally, they come here to get paid. They certainly aren't taken advantage of

Lol, this guy. Wonder who was the last in the room with Trump? Stephen Miller is going to be livid!

So first it was focusing on criminals. Then, to meet quotas, ICE started arresting, detaining, and deporting people who weren't criminals, many who have come under asylum regulations.

But now it seems some rich Republicans are complaining they don't have enough cheap labor so perhaps Trump can help with that?

Lol.

They are the scum of the earth, every one of them.

Why do you believe illegal immigrants who work and pay taxes, buy goods, etc. hurt our economy? Robbing a bank absolutely does, but I don't see more than a false equivalency there.

What they experience varies from company to company and state to state. Some areas are better at following laws and providing better compensation. Some areas absolutely exploit illegal immigrants.

They may not be taken advantage of at your company, but they were still drawn in to our country by the precedent of the past, to "get paid," as you put it. That in itself is part of the problem. The system has encouraged and relied on their labor for decades. Did the people working under you tell you they intended to break the law to "get paid" there?

She's certainly alien, since she's not human.

Not all. Some. Of that there is no doubt, although you try to maximize the one and deflate the other.

I've always wondered, if they are exploited here, why do others rush to fill the gaps if they leave?

They come wanting the ability to make more here than they could elsewhere.

That isn't exploitation in any sense of the word.

Did they 'tell me'? They didn't have to. I used to get work visas every year for hundreds of people, and then they stopped wanting them. They didn't want to pay the $350 EA(of the $800, plus attorney's fees. They also didn't like being tied to a single employer as the work visa would be invalid if they left to go elsewhere.
Now they pay a coyote thousands of dollars to get here instead.

It doesn't matter if he's deporting illegal immigrants or failing to deport illegal immigrants. The angry left will always be angry. So predictable.
MAGAts will support ANYTHING their rapey felon God says... ANYTHING.

Mexico requires an ID to vote because they want to protect their citizens from voter fraud crimes that violates everyone's right to vote.
But in America the Democrat Party claims that their voters don't know how to get an ID.
The Democrats are opposed to voter ID because they commit voter fraud crimes.
Voter fraud crimes destroy democracy.
The other way that the Democrats are cheaters is that they want to count illegal aliens in the census to give them more congressional seats.
What a lie.
