no it was nothing like thatIt was a lot like when George W. Bush did the "Mission Accomplished" thing on the aircraft carrier.
Politicians have been using children as long as there have been politicians. On the list of things to get worked up about, this is retarded.
I'm having a hard time getting too worked up over it, but at the same time I'd prefer the he not have done it.
Then again, I'd prefer they (politicians) not attach kid's names to bills, either. IMO, the added emotion detracts from the chances of honest debate and we get things like the overzealous sex offender list that does way more than is legitimate.

Was President Obama's use of children in today's press conference appropriate?
- Yes, it was completely normal and appropriate.
- Yeah, it was ok, but I'd prefer that children were not involved like that.
- No, it was total emotional exploitation.
- I cannot decide.
Years ago President Clinton was giving a speech... State of the Union, I think... and he made the comment (paraphrasing) that, "...and I am proud to announce that not one single nuclear warhead is pointed at an American child." (Then, he got that smug smirk on his face while everybody cheered. :rollWhen watching yesterday, I was torn between counting the number of times that Biden nodded his head in agreement, or the number of times the word children was used.
Exploitation of children is common by Socialists:
Looking at the Fidel Castrato photo... gave me an idea that could make someone a millionaire. Start producing Obama ears... a little like Mickey Mouse but much, much bigger. So large that you are imbalanced. Of course... the left ear (wing) would be much larger to achieve the right effect of being imbalanced.
Would be the next Halloween hit. Couple it with a dunce hat with propeller and a copy of the Commi Manifesto and you'd be on your way to being an impersonator of our Little Marxist.
Of course... on the pack you'd have to add... for the benefit of Obamatrons... Kool-Aid and Children not included.
Agreed. Who cares? Those kids will remember that forever. Let them have their 15 minutes. Sure, Pres Obama used them as props. So what? They got to hang out with the POTUS and be on TV. They "used" him too lol.Politicians have been using children as long as there have been politicians. On the list of things to get worked up about, this is retarded.

A Liberal making an appeal to tradition? Hardly seems right.
Pointing out selective outrage and the complete triviality of this is not an appeal to tradition. Nice try though.
It wasn't appropriate, but pretty much all politicians appeal to "but think of the children!" type stuff when they campaign for something. It plays on the emotions of the weak and makes partisans further cast their guys in some kind of sainthood light fueled by benevolence. No one should let themselves get played like that.
