U.S. Job Growth Unexpectedly Soared in July

Interesting news considering the slight uptick in unemployment claims, so for those out of work it's good to know the demand for jobs is still holding pretty strong. What I am curious to see over the next few months are the impact of large companies reducing their head count and slowing down hiring. In this report we see professional and business services continuing to add jobs, but much of what I'm reading and hearing is this will slow soon.
As some of you know I'm an Executive Recruiter and our business has been incredible throughout 2021 and to date in 2022 BUT we have noticed in the past few weeks that our new job orders are slowing down - could be due to it being August or it could be a barometer of the jobs market to come. I do know that many industries are still struggling to find employees but some of our clients have gone into a "hiring freeze" until the end of the year so we're seeing mixed messages. I will also say that this report is excellent and it must be making the GOP and GOP people on this Forum nervous that their doomsaying is not going to materialize.

Wow and here I thought Biden was President and it was 2022 not 2018. you think the companies owe these people more than the market can afford? It is stunning how that entitlement mentality exists with people like you. I operated on the Walter Alston contract, one year and dealt with that for 35 years making my self more employable and learning along the way. I was looking for a job when I found the one I had for 35 years, managed over 1200 employees with 12 direct reports. I would say I have a pretty good understanding of you and the liberal ideology

I will remind you that Trump took employment from 152 million to 159 million in three years. That is where we are today over two years post pandemic
......and I will remind you he never beat Obamas number.

Anyone who says that 168,000 fewer Americans employed since March and a lower Employment-Population Ratio since then is a good thing is a macroeconomic ignoramus.
Oh look, 🧦 boy is back at it. There is a reason why the BLS clearly stated :
Total nonfarm employment has increased by 22.0 million since reaching a low in April 2020
and has returned to its pre-pandemic level.
But you're not interested in why the BLS uses the establishment survey to convey employment levels and MoM changes to employment. So enjoy hiding behind your VPN and spewing the same toxic ignorance that got you banned from this place. It is helpful to have a poster child for cringe AF....

Can you explain how the consequences of conservatives took us from a strong working class to an anemic one?

What? Where in the hell do you get your information? It is amazing ignorance, Obama's target wasn't the employment when he took office it was the April 2008 employment number of 146 million. He was hired to get us back to pre recession levels and his policies took employment from 146 million to 152 millions. Your math isn't very good Do you know the difference between a returning taxpayer vs a new taxpayer? Doesn't exist in the liberal world with such loyalty to the fraud. I don't expect an answer because you and other liberals don't response well to facts

Why don't you post data that matters, like Trump's 60+ approval rating on the economy and 7 million NEW jobs created, not returning jobs like you want to give Biden credit for. Inflation was 2%. The U-6 rate under Trump showed people working full time not part time like Obama. Have no idea where you get your information but that propaganda just doesn't sell as the 33% approval rating for Biden shows

So stagnant wages with record profits doesn’t matter to you?

Fascism is already here.... To what degree and how long it lasts is still uncertain.
False and stupid. Be the first liberal on your block to actually educate yourself on what fascism is before throwing the word around so casually here.

That's what I was referring to earlier, because that's what I'm seeing in a lot of communications from colleagues across a wide array of large companies and what I've been reading as well.

it's Biden's fault......damned elitist liberal democrats......what are they trying to do.......give everybody a job......
and what about Benghazi

I never had stagnant wages and if you did then look in the mirror for the reason. You think businesses are there for you? Earn your wages and stop complaining as apparently you were getting the wages you deserved

Biden's fault? Biden isn't running the office, his puppeteer is

I guess BLS data matters until it doesn't....
😜

The fact you can reply to that question using such black-and-white, either/or thinking tells me you really don’t get it at all.
But you go right on ahead with your “personal responsibility” mantra…
The rest of the world would like to move on and deal with present reality. Would you advise your grandkids to “pound the pavement” and “show up in person” when applying for a job today?
Millennials have it way harder than your generation.

Your Prime years were during a time
It isn't that difficult, the only thing that has changed is attitude of the younger generation today who have that entitlement mentality. Private sector businesses are looking for good people who take pride in their work and their appearance, they aren't looking for the next big thing as it will come with the proper attitude. I don't see anything from you that represents present reality, why would anyone hire you

I would suggest my grandkids accept responsibility for poor choices and stop making excuses for not getting hired. I currently have a granddaughter working as a nurse and doing a great job, another playing college baseball with a potential career there so not sure what you are implying or talking about. This country was built on equal opportunity not equal outcome. Young people today are too addicted to video games and that entitlement mentality where the world owes them. That will never happen
So you’re obviously not interested in anyone else’s real world experience. Why would you join a debate site? Why not an ‘I-Know-What’s- Wrong-With -Everyone- Else forum?
You have literally been out of the workforce for - what- 25 years now? Your arrogance is stunning.

Basic civics, do they teach that in NJ? Now answer the question when did Obama get his best employment numbers, GOP or Republican Congress?
Stay on topic. Nothing in this thread is about Bush or Obama. Only a truly desperate poster would resort to going off topic when cornered and when in denial. Do everyone a favor and stay on topic or start another thread about Obama and Bush...DAMN!

False and stupid. Be the first liberal on your block to actually educate yourself on what fascism is before throwing the word around so casually here.
And that's your opinion... which is based on the ideology that has led the country to this reactionary brush with fascism. While a minor economic slowdown is in the cards for 2023, supply chain disruptions combined with surges in aggregate demand are in the rearview mirror... meaning higher inflationary pressures are currently being alleviated. The GQP doesn't have much to run on in 2024.

Fascism is already here.... To what degree and how long it lasts is still uncertain.
Seven basic tactics authoritarian leaders and movements use to pursue and maintain power are listed below:
  • They attempt to politicize independent institutions.
  • They spread disinformation.
  • They aggrandize executive power at the expense of checks and balances.
  • They quash criticism and dissent.
  • They specifically target vulnerable or marginalized communities.
  • They work to corrupt elections.
Today's GOP is hitting every point.

False and stupid. Be the first liberal on your block to actually educate yourself on what fascism is before throwing the word around so casually here.
Here's one definition:
--Robert Paxton, a professor emeritus at Columbia University, in his 2004 book The Anatomy of Fascism provides these hallmarks of fascism: “obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation, or victimhood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy, and purity”; involving “a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites”; which “abandons democratic liberties”; and “pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing. . . .”

Does that definition make you uncomfortable? Why?

Are you saying that the Household Survey is not an accurate means of determining employment?

Yes or No?

(watch folks - I bet you he won't dare answer this question straight out. Because he knows to do so ruins his pro-Biden angle on this. He will spin around and throw ad hominem's in a desperate attempt to ignore the question. That is what he does.)

Once again, I despise both parties.

Is there some reason your data ends in 2018? Did you send your Trump tax cut back?
Is there some reason that you start the clock for Obama 9 months before he was sworn in? The amount of pure bullshit tossed in your posts are so incredibly repetitive, so predictable, so angry, so negative that it must be a pure pleasure to you when 9/11 happened, when children get killed in schools, when anything good happens in America that is accomplished by anyone other than Trump you expose hatred in a way that is scary....
