Their place involves having the same rights as others.Weak talking points from someone who wants to put trans people "back in their place."
I did read it. I don't enjoy reading fiction.I thought you said you read the Bible
Those results are very heartening. I am especially happy to see 80+ opposition to hormone treatments for minors, and men in women's sports. That's about as close to a consensus as we ever see on a political issue.Well done for a decision that will be welcomed by the UK public.
I posted this Yougov survey a few days ago. It's worth a look.
Where does the British public stand on transgender rights in 2024/25? | YouGov
Scepticism towards transgender rights has grown across the board since 2022yougov.co.uk
Their place involves having the same rights as others.
All that matters to Lisa is her insufferable self-righteousness.
It's her way of trying to feel superior to others.
And apparently you didn't retain it.I did read it. I don't enjoy reading fiction.
it never became as much of a culture-war-fervor item (where people feel the need to defend it absolutely because The Bad People Oppose It),
Trans erasure…. More v-coding awaits… joy… the entire premise of TERFism and anti trans is the claim trans women are doing this to rape women. They at least dont have to suffer the inhumane practice of v-coding.
Genocide lovers? You just threw away any credibility you ever dreamed of having.Gotta say, nothing is richer than genocide-lovers accusing others of "insufferable self-righteousness."
Is that why you think i defend trans people? Honestly? Actually biology is far from unambiguous. Do you think i just wanted to hate JK Rowling?Europe was faster than us getting into this mess, and it never became as much of a culture-war-fervor item (where people feel the need to defend it absolutely because The Bad People Oppose It), so, they are a bit faster than us, it seems, in getting out of it.
Another important - and unanimous! - step in that journey:
U.K. Supreme Court Rules Trans Women Can’t Be Defined as Women
Britain’s top court ruled only those born female can be considered women, a landmark judgment that excludes transgender women from the legal definition and paves the way for tighter limits on female-only spaces and services. ...“The unanimous decision of this court is that the terms ‘woman’ and ‘sex’ in the Equality Act 2010 refer to biological women and biological sex,” said the court’s deputy president, Lord Hodge....In the 88-page ruling, the judges said the concept of sex was binary, referring to either a woman or a man, and that they hoped the ruling would give clarity to the law while protecting both women and transgender people.“The ordinary meaning of those plain and unambiguous words corresponds with the biological characteristics that make an individual a man or a woman,” the ruling read.“These are assumed to be self-explanatory and to require no further explanation.”
Defend them from what?Is that why you think i defend trans people? Honestly? Actually biology is far from unambiguous.
I think this has more to do with Islam infiltrating into the UK than it does whatever the hell terfs are.
Welp, then over 80% of Britons are "easily-duped ignorant bigots" who disagree with you on giving sex hormones to minors and letting men's play in women's sports. If my math is correct, that includes a majority of Labour voters. Not all easily duped ignorant bigots are Americans. They're just kinda the loudest when it comes to this topic.
I did see the king talk about Ramadan.OK, I guess there has to be one utterly ridiculous post at least once a day somewhere on the forums and you just posted today's moronic post.
Islam is very very very anti LGBT. If you import it into your country your country will become Anti LGBT. You can deny this you can pretend it's fake but I know better.Congrats on posting some bollocks completely unrelated to the subject of the thread.
I do not support Hamas and their promise to kill Jews until they hide behind rocks and trees.Gotta say, nothing is richer than genocide-lovers accusing others of "insufferable self-righteousness."
You wouldn't understand nuance if it sat up and hit you across the face with a haddockSo whats the nuance?
Is watching women getting beaten up by males some sort of sexual thing with you people?Doctors who treat trans kids: "Gender affirming care is what works best for trans people's long term physical and mental health and that starts with affirming their gender"
Bigots pretending to care about women and women's sports for the first time in their lives:

The whole reason was because trans people needed a safe space to begin with and they were using the bathroom of their gender without much issue until TERFs came along. so im not sure i buy the mote and bailey argument about safe spaces. Like what is even the point then of recognizing trans women then? The entire ruling negates any recognition of trans women and only gives a kind of useless consolation? Im confused about how this isnt erasure but its not the worst thing in the world thanks. You certainly are right regarding culture wars, that seems to be uniquely American and I hope it stays that way - even though some of our Trump supporting politicians want it to happen.
I understand the sentiment but the judges were pretty clear this was not and should not be read as a defeat for trans people's rights. We haven't subscribed to the same culture wars that exist and grip American politics. Lord hodge added this today "the legislation gives transgender people "protection, not only against discrimination through the protected characteristic of gender reassignment, but also against direct discrimination, indirect discrimination and harassment in substance in their acquired gender".
That is not going to change here in the UK. What will happen though and this was brought by what has recently happened in Scotland is that women's safe spaces are to be protected. That may and should also mean safe spaces for transgender people will need to be separately established and protected.
That's not what he said. The usual suspects are misrepresenting what was actually a fine point of UK law into a general rubric, which it is not.Rather than post garbage like that, why not use your supposed legal skills and tell us where the UK Supreme Court got this wrong.
*crickets*
I don't care even a little bit about convincing bigots of anything. They have gone way too far with their bullshit.Welp, then over 80% of Britons are "easily-duped ignorant bigots" who disagree with you on giving sex hormones to minors and letting men's play in women's sports. If my math is correct, that includes a majority of Labour voters.
So you have your work cut out for you in convincing them. Maybe if you keep calling them names, it will change their mind. It's been working out great so far!
I mean you cant convince a transphobe that trans people deserve any recognition at all or that they have any problems worth addressing.I don't care even a little bit about convincing bigots of anything. They have gone way too far with their bullshit.
Cool. If you don't care about convincing the other 80% of the public and are content to just insult them, then we agree. I am happy that radical trans activists are finally accepting defeat, even if they want to sullenly mope about it for a while.I don't care even a little bit about convincing bigots of anything. They have gone way too far with their bullshit.
Ok so it aint as bad as i thought. Ill read it again. That's not what he said. The usual suspects are misrepresenting what was actually a fine point of UK law into a general rubric, which it is not.
The ruling applies only the the equality act and does not remove protections from trans people, according to the person who wrote it.
There's no point. They have to figure it out on their own.I mean you cant convince a transphobe that trans people deserve any recognition at all or that they have any problems worth addressing.
