I'd call this a good development and a step towards the return to sensibility.
 
I mean it wasnt enough for TERFs to keep conversion therapy alive, they had to defend doxxing trans people to vicious far right assholes, destroy their suicide hotlines, harass librarians over a cartoon alien… what this is all about is erasure.

All things considered, this should not surprise anyone in that the UK made this sort of decision. I would argue there is a good bit of old school conservatism in play and they just recently got knocked out of power (sort of.)

Maybe @CLAX1911 could explain the to TERFs the welcome castrating effects of the HRT and anti-androgens, since that is a major hangup for him that trans seek to put an end to their natal hormones and the sexual effects thereof.

The fact that half of transgender women are lesbian(transbians) seems to be lost on TERFs. The other trans females are bisexual or attracted to males.
