TYT Poll Results: Will Bernie Supporters Vote For Hillary

Re: Will Bernie Fans Vote For Hillary? (Poll Results)

So we should just blindly vote for whoever the democratic party serves up to us every election cycle so we can feel like our opinions matter? I have very, very little in common with Clinton, why should I vote for someone who doesn't represent my values so that she can defeat someone who doesn't represent my values?

That's exactly why I refuse to vote for Trump, even though I historically vote for the GOP candidate in the general elections. I'm not one of those "lesser of two evils" or "I vote based on the capital letter after the name" girls.

There's nothing I enjoy more than being lectured about "the lesser of two evils" by moral degenerates who will vote for someone they vehemently disagree with, and don't like or trust. Hillary was the worst war hawk on either side this election cycle and I can not support a corrupt plutocrat that is going to get us sucked into another foreign quagmire.

It's a plurality takes all process in almost every state. So in which state(s) will Johnson win at least a plurality of the votes? The answer is almost definitely 0 of them.....

And I don't understand people who support Bernie and won't vote or will vote third party or vote for Trump. Bernie and Hillary agree on about 90% of the issues, so it makes no sense to effectively support the election of someone who agrees with Bernie on almost none of the big issues (trade I guess is one exception, although with Trump he's probably pro-'free' trade today- who the hell knows).

I actually can't stand Hillary either - the money thing is a huge part of it, $10s of millions from people with interests before the government - and I voted for Bernie in the primary, but I see huge differences between Trump and Hillary and am forced to vote for the lesser of two evils, and it's not a close call IMO. Yeah, I don't get my pony and lollipop, but I can't help elect someone I consider actually potentially dangerous and Trump with a GOP led Senate and House is a dangerous combination. Clinton with a GOP House far, far less so.

You do realize it really doesn't depend on who is in the White House whether or not you change your life for the better, or how you impact your own life, right? None of these people will change your life in any meaningful way, it is up to you to do that.

If anything the anointing of Hillary Clinton absolutely confirmed my suspicions that votes don't count, and there's no point in voting. Period.

Even if Johnson get 25% of the vote he could still end up with 0 EVs and the mostly likely state he could win won't be enough to put it into the house.

One poll shows him at 11%. That's not even close enough to take a single state. However, he could tip several states towards one candidate or the other. So yea, in that sense, Johnson could be a real spoiler here. And I'm voting for him. Let the mayhem begin. It's needed.

A toast to Gary Johnson. :)

He could definitely be a spoiler but there's no way he could throw the election into the house which is what I was responding to.

I heard something similar about #feelthebern

LMAO. Just what I need - self help advice from random strangers on the internet who don't know a thing about me or my life.

In case you haven't noticed, this forum is called "Debate Politics," and so that's what we discuss here. If you think it's all pointless, you do realize there are a number of other ways to spend time online, discussing important stuff like college football, or watching porn!

Except Hillary has gotten more votes than Bernie. I don't like it either, but I can't wish away that simple fact. It's how it works - the person with the most votes usually wins. In one of the bluest states in the country, CA, Hillary trounced Bernie by 20 points.

How many votes that received in the primaries would be a better predictor.

No, it would not, see my post below this one.

Then why are you accusing me of trying to help Trump get into the White House?

Remind me, what are the candidates' approval ratings again?

doesn't matter. Gary Johnson doesn't have the power to mount an effective Campaign, Ross Perot didn't even carry a state, and his campaign machine was far more finely tuned then Gary.

Then why are you accusing me of trying to help Trump get into the White House?

Because you are bitter about Sanders and like to make yourself larger than life. No one cares who you vote for and you are not indicative of most of Bernie's followers so don't include yourself with them.

That was before the 'nomination' of the most despised candidates - quite possibly - in the history of the United States of America.

I find it more disturbing that you gleefully and unquestionably bow before another human and allow (and encourage) him or her to dictate what you should or should not do with your own life.

No one cares who you vote for

The feeling is mutual.

and you are not indicative of most of Bernie's followers so don't include yourself with them.

And I do not, because I am not a follower.

Re: Will Bernie Fans Vote For Hillary? (Poll Results)

Wrong time to be asking this question, which means the poll means very little. See also, NeverTrump movement.

Or the NeverObama movement among Hillary supporters in 2008. That was a far closer and much more divisive primary than this one. 40% of them "pledged" to not vote for Obama but Hillary campaigned with Obama and most all of them came around. This year it will be even easier for them with both Warren AND Sanders on the stump for Hillary. Warren especially was gushing about working with Hillary on the progressive agenda.

At least you did not deny being bitter about Sanders losing. That's a start. It is going to be OK.

You are the only one who keeps mentioning Sanders, over and over again, in fact. You Hillary supporters seem even more obsessed with Bernie than most of his supporters. One of which, I am not, and haven't really been since he downplayed her email scandal.

LOL And you now think that is why he lost......I see you still need to work thru this yourself . If you look at it objectively, Sanders did very well and he is getting a lot of Kudos from high ranking Dems for his efforts. That is a good thing, don't you think?
