Two 13-year-olds shot while trying to steal car in Southwest Philadelphia: Police

Why would the 2 that fled throw a gun away?
I would get rid of a gun from the scene of a crime I was involved in. Absolutely.
A gun at the scene of crime means more jail time for all involved. Removal of a weapon from the scene of the crime is almost as important as running for your life. Plus we don't know who was the owner of the gun is, if it was stolen, and could it link them to an even more serious crime.

At this point we have to criminals shot by a citizen claiming they had a gun. Their actions may have led the shooter to believe they were armed and put him in fear of his life.
The sad realty about leading a criminal life is the danger it puts you in. Unfortunately teenagers don't realize the danger until it is too late. That is why I don't like minors treated as adults in our judicial system. Mentally they are not adults. As a teenager I took risks I would never do today.

You never did anything stupid as a teenager?
What level of "stupid" are we talking here? Bought stuff from an overpriced vending machine? Sure. Carjacking? HELL NO!

Plenty of non-shoot'em-up-modern-civil-society places in the United States. In fact, it's almost everywhere except in a few shitty inner city neighborhoods. Thank a Democrat for this one!

Until they're out of the hospital. Not for good, at least not not in this case since it looks like these two retards will be fine.

And they're not going to be executed for it. They were merely temporarily sucking on some lead because that was the reasonable force that was necessary to stop their crime. Self-defense != punishment.
Shooting for car theft is not self defense.

It ain't just a "car theft." It's a carjacking/robbery.
?? Who gives a **** what you call it? Even carjacking/robbery doesn't carry a death sentence if the thief is no threat to the owner.
No, your loaded question based on your false premise won't be answered. It will get binned along with stuff like do you enjoy beating your wife.
See above. Yes or no?

What does the sentence have to do with what you're allowed to do to defend yourself?

He wasn't sentencing them to death. He was shooting to stop their crime.
if the thief is no threat to the owner.
That hasn't been established. I would argue the very act of committing a robbery creates a threat.
See above. Yes or no?
Can I point and laugh at you instead?

Oh, so you think this was their first rodeo? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Possibly. I doubt 13 year olds are stealing many cars.

I did have a cousin once removed who was stealing cars for a chop shop in his teens. He only got caught because he accidently hit a cop car. he went to jail and straightened out his act after that.

That's one problem with you lefties. No standards to hold others accountable for their actions.
Not at all, I am all for punishing them within the law.

Shooting them over a joy ride, though, seems a little extreme. Who do we shoot next? Litterers? Jaywalkers?

What level of "stupid" are we talking here? Bought stuff from an overpriced vending machine? Sure. Carjacking? HELL NO!

I don't think they described it as a carjacking, they described it as a joy ride. It wasn't the shooter's car, it was a neighbor's car in it's parking spot.

The shooter claimed one of the teens pulled a gun on him, but no one has been able to find this gun.

Whatever they want to call it they paid the price for those who commit crimes

Stopping a robbery is NOT DEFENDING YOURSELF !!
He wasn't sentencing them to death. He was shooting to stop their crime.
You can't shoot people "to stop their crime". It's illegal unless your own life is threatened. Period.
That hasn't been established. I would argue the very act of committing a robbery creates a threat.
Argue all you want. Argue with yourself. Even law enforcement are not allowed to shoot someone for committing a robbery, and you insist that you can. 🤷‍♂️
Life is too short to bother with deliberately obtuse people.
Can I point and laugh at you instead?
I'll end this exchange now because it is obvious you don't have the intellectual honesty to answer a simple question - not even to yourself. Have fun shooting thieves.

I don't want a country where you can shoot people because you suspect them of petty crimes. That would be anarchy to everyone but the gun fetishists.

They were shot because the witness reported they brandished a firearm

Another example how society is safer when criminals don't know who's armed.

All statistics say the exact opposite.

But you're welcome to your delusions and fantasies of course. (y)

A firearm that no one has been able to find.
So what? There is no expectation that one should be found.

He had rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

Or he could have stayed in his house and called the police. It wasn't even his car.

An example of failed 'parenting', or no 'parenting" at all more likely. I'll bet Dad is just a rumor.

OTOH, it says here that a guy saw someone breaking into a car, and so he called his neighbor. Why didnt he call the Police? It doesnt say.

The neighbor apparently came over, some kids got shot its unclear which man shot them. One of them was shot in the back. Difficult to see how that could be "self defense". hmmmm. And no gun was found.

Its a sick sick society when people gather to celebrate children being shot IMO, I'll bet many of those here are "christians" even.🤮

Or he could have stayed in his house and called the police. It wasn't even his car.
There is no law he needed to stay in the house.

Arguing with the willfully stupid (or the just stupid) is not a great use of ones time imo.
Agreed. But sometimes it's just fun, and then one has to ask "Isn't fun a great use of one's time?"

Sometimes it is - sometimes it isn't.
😊
