Trump launches military strike against Syria

I would hope so!

If you stumble upon it, and are so inclined, please link it.

I may have misheard or misunderstood. Hard to believe there would be no warning to an airbase where Russians may be on the ground.

But then Trump ...

They were warned, no doubt. But not soon enough that they could tip off the Syrians.

Trump's approval levels will be way up tomorrow.

Is that what war means to you, trump's approval ratings ?

When is the last time someone other than a career politician was in the White House?
Luther this attack on runways and aircraft that disperses saran gas on the people in Syria is overdue. It should have been done years ago.

Aynd I just learned that all this took place just after Trump left the leader of China saying goodnight. And yes I think you are right in the fact that Kim the idiot of N.Korea will indeed get a message from this as well.

It isn't any surprise that this happened after Trump had hosted Netanyahu, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and Abdullah II king of Jordan. All three of these leaders were dissed by the Obama administration and all three want to help in the aid of the carnage in Syria, defeating ISIS, to stop not just the hideous actions of these regimes but to also stop those who are benefiting from all the unrest. Iran and Russia.

Some people on the news were discussing the possibility this could escalate into a war. An analyst said it could lead to a war, but they didn't say how likely it could happen.

Some people said that Russia's interference in our election was an act of war. Look, if Putin wants a shooting war with America we'll be the first to know, but Assad now knows that having Russians wandering his country does not constitute an effective missile shield if he continues to use Sarin gas on innocents. However, if Trump tries to leverage this into regime change, the American public will revolt.

my thought is, no one -- that is, no one -- seems to have a coherent set of principles as to when we should go to war in the middle east, and everyone -- that is, everyone -- goes entirely by gut feeling.

Which is . . . Not good.

bingo!

Good

The Pentagon is saying that the Russians were in fact notified before the strike occurred.

Ummmm...the current lot goes obsolete before they are too old to use, and very few ever make it to obsolete.

If I remember correctly, tomohawks are like all munitions, from bullets down to nukes, they have a best by date, which is actually very lengthy, when they are close to that date, they are dismantled and destroyed, or repurposed.

They actually almost never even go bad, but just slightly degrade in performance.

So you would of also been against US action in Bosnia then?

why? were they killing US citizens from Texas, Florida, Minnesota, and about 47 other US states there? No, prolly not ..........

Both of these guys are amongst the worst formal speakers around! :doh

I guess that matters to those who are entranced by bright shiny objects?

Maybe, maybe not. I think the response was reasonably proportional.

Now where it may go sideways is in the Putin response.

But you are right in that we don't want a boots-on-the-ground war, that's for sure!

It was a "melon thumping". Russia, Syria, and Iran are all fighting the Syrian rebels, and in spite of their superior capabilities, they resorted to the indiscriminate use of Sarin gas. Simply put, we enforced Obamas red line.

The Russians "get it".

Same argument that kept you out of WW2 until Japan attacked and luckily that isolationist thinking is long dead apart from a minority's like yourself.

Chill.

This is a message........not a war.

The us govt said that last time in 2013, if met a lot of criticism and fell flat because their main argument was rebels could not produce chemicals weapons of that grade.

I seriously doubt they have the evidence, this will likely end up years from now like the wmd fiasco in iraq. Infact for them to confirm something they have no video footage of, and no time to do much investigation, leads me to believe there never was much of an investigation.

It takes almost a year to try and convict trump of colluding with russia by our spy agencies and still no evidence, takes less than a day for them to supposedly prove assad gassed his own people, while ignoring that isis and the rebels both have chemical weapons.

We'll see I guess. They said that they will show it to us tonight. They say they have radar footage of planes flying from this base to the gas site and photos of the bloom from the bombs at that time. The CNN reporter said she saw it.

So far Trump changes his mind more often than a new mommy changes baby's diaper. He reacts instinctively, and doesn't really seem to think things through. He scares the liver out of me. However, this time I think he actually got excellent advice from Gen. Mattis, and actually took it.

Fingers crossed.

The President must get Congressional approval before attacking Syria-big mistake if he does not!

**** congress.

We don't have time for red tape and incompetence. Swift action needs to be made and fast. We can blame Barack Obama for this mess. His plan was to announce our withdrawal from Iraq several months in advance. He pretty much gave our blueprints to the enemy and acted as if that was some sort of accomplishment?

I see the movie already. Something directed by an Eastwood Jr in his 70s. 'Goodbye Seoul' - Oscar winner for best picture, best director, and featuring tons of explosions.

That's funny as shee..at.

No........the strikes will come and nobody will do a damned thing.

Iran has no power (and probably won't be hit) and China needs us as their No. 1 customer.........we'll be fine.

:2usflag:

You do realize Iran can fud up the whole ME? And China can survive without us?
