Charity is better than social security as a means of helping the genuinely disadvantaged.
So, I'm taking this thing against out of curiosity. (thepoliticalcompass.org)
And this one hung me up:
How is charity comparable to Social Security? Does Social Security in this sense mean something different than the Social Security that we pay into and receive upon disability or retirement?
I never considered it available to those who are genuinely disadvantaged - I though affirmative action, various organizations and welfare . . . among other things - were there for that purpose.
Some explain, please.
you're looking at it from a purely American point of view, social security is, in its entirety, any government run or funded program that helps people out.

I like the test; it's way better than the regular left-right spectrum, but I think that I was thrown a little to the left by the quiz confusing free market capitalism and corporatism.
