SAN ANTONIO — A Texas woman who for months was unable to qualify for food stamps pulled a gun in a state welfare office and staged a seven-hour standoff with police that ended with her shooting her two children before killing herself, officials said Tuesday.
The children, a 10-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, remained in critical condition Tuesday. The shooting took place at a Texas Department of Health and Human Services building in Laredo, where police said about 25 people were inside at the time.
She sure as hell isn't going to get food stamps, now. Dumb bitch! She needs to be execute, before she breeds again.

Did you even bother to read the story?
I missed that part in my outrage. So what?
Honour violence is never pretty.
Being kinda local to this incident I don't see it as honor violence. I see it as desperation violence. Maybe we see things differently could you please explain what you mean by honor violence.
Depends on what her real motive was. But it could easily be
1. The shame of asking for food stamps and not getting them. Basically her honour was hurt twice.. first by asking and then getting a no. You might call it being desperate, but being desperate is one thing but then getting turned away? How does that not hurt ones "honour" on a subconscious level at least?
2. Killing her children is either to shield them from that shame of what she did or to shield them from the shame of a mother that would kill herself. Also very much honour based violence.
Tell me.. would you be more willing to accept it as an honour killing if you knew it was a Muslim that did the crime?

SAN ANTONIO -- Authorities say a 12-year-old girl shot by her mother during a standoff at a Texas welfare office has died.
Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza said Ramie Grimmer died Wednesday at a San Antonio hospital. Her 10-year-old brother was in critical condition.
Their mother, Rachelle Grimmer, was found dead Monday inside a state welfare office in Laredo. Authorities say the 38-year-old killed herself after shooting her children during a seven-hour standoff with police.

RIP Little one, may your journey to heaven be swift and the reunion with Jesus comforting.
The article I read the other day stated that she was originally denied due to a lack of necessary paperwork. The case worker scheduled a follow up meeting to discuss this issue but the mother never showed up. That was in AUGUST. In NOVEMBER she charged into the HHS office and held everybody hostage for hours, then tried to kill her children before killing herself.
This woman's issues were entirely her own, and she took her kids down in a fit of (what I have to assume was) psychosis. This is a tragedy for the children, and for the people in that office who were part of the stand-off, and for the police who tried but failed to difuse the situation. For the mother, it is nothing more than bat-**** crazy behavior that might have been prevented had she followed through with the process as originally scheduled.
The little girl, Ramie, has now died of her injuries. She may have predicted her death on Facebook when she posted "may die 2day" hours before her mother shot her. The kids' father was flying down from Montana. His mother says Rachelle Grimmer had a history of mental problems.

Some blunt thoughts:
Mom couldn't afford food, but had a gun?
The little girl that passed away, for a family in dire straights, how did she have mobile access to facebook but not food?
Sounds more like a mentally unstable woman then a failure of the Food Stamp program to me.
