States with HIGHEST Levels of Personal Debt Voted for Trump in 2016

I guess you thought that the lower income folks would subsidize the higher income folks. The thing is that the folks from the blue states vote for more of that income redistribution stuff. You can't have it both ways.

And the other thing is the red states vote for less of that income redistribution stuff, yet they take the money

So it looks like you are wrong. You can have it both ways. At least, those red state hypocrits can

you know now that Uncle Fetus, the good ole coal miner from Kentucky that hasn't had a job in seven years, that is eyeball deep in debt, that has no teeth, that voted for Trump, isn't smart enuff to just file for bankruptcy, LIKE Trump did a gazillion times .................

Teaxs is a red state and if you don't like it then GTFO - California is where yout ought to be.

In other words, you can't rebut anything I've said..........so, like most clueless right wingers, you deflect and attack.

I do think it's cute that people like you feel entitled enough to make empty anonymous threats on message boards like this one. I think it's a fairly safe guess that you'd be much more polite to me in person.

It couldn't possibly have been that those folks may have wanted more and/or better jobs.

Poll: Most small-business owners say they will not hire, give raises because of new tax law
Poll: Most small-business owners say they will not hire, give raises because of new tax law | TheHill

*Seven in 10 small-business owners said they would not hire a new employee as a result of the new tax law.

*Six in 10 small-business owners said they would not be giving their employees raises.

*54 percent of small-business owners say the tax law favors large corporations over small businesses.

*55 percent of respondents do not believe the law puts small businesses on a level playing field with big businesses.

*Importantly, given the partisan nature of the law, 41 percent identify as Republican, 31 percent as Democrat and 28 percent as independent or something else.

Interesting to see that US states with the highest levels of personal debt in collections are pretty much the very same states that voted for Trump in the 2016 election. :doh

what does this strange fact say about Americans? :lamo:

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/03/11/radio-dave-ramsey-2018-trump-217229

I think it implies that Americans are loose with money, irresponsible, and stupid to boot ............. and they voted for stupid ...........

It says they voted for change.

The tax law change was only part of the change from prior policy - the reduction in regulations is another. Just because under half of small businesses don't plan on hiring or giving raises does not mean that things won't improve. Economic growth has occurred and will be hard for the MSM to ignore.

The majority of debt in this country falls under student loan, mortgage, and small business.

So, the states with a lot of people who went to college, bought a house, or started a business, are the states that supported Trump.

What's your point, again?

Funny. The person they are focused on doesn't blame Trump alone, but you do. This debt didn't appear all in one year. He blames Obama as well.

What this says is, these voters, voted for Trump because they wished to get out of debt. All the other candidates were not expected to help their cause. The Democrats were sending jobs overseas and both parties were depressing the wage rate, with illegal immigration. These were the reasons for their debt.

These people did not wish to be welfare dependents, due to the left squandering their future. They wanted the American dream to return, and they saw Trump as the most qualified in terms of money managing and finance. That is Trumps occupation. Hillary was a defense lawyer whose career is more about helping criminals escape justice. This was not expected to be beneficial to honest hard working people in debt. Hillary would better serve the scam artists and the parasites.

I was not placing blame; I was observing the high levels of personal debt in collection as compared to the candidate they voted for, that's all

the thread is not a campaign for votes ...........

this is not third grade & I am not Mr. Popularity ................... that guy is in The White House ................

Since I am an Independent and vote a mix of Republicans, Independents, and even Democrats (voted for Obama in 2012), I was giving you some friendly advice that what you did before didn't work, so why use the same tactic now? When you guys call people deplorables, racists, bigots, and every other ism there is, it gives them a reason to come out to the polls just to shove it up your ass. Is that what you really want? Trump is here now because of the left's stupidness and name calling.

It couldn't possibly have been that those folks may have wanted more and/or better jobs.

No they are in debt so they are bad. Bads vote for trump.

Clearly cone on.

I have a mortgage, suppose I made the bad decision of not pulling 200k out of my ass to pay for it.

It seems odd to me that voters would find it more to their advantage to vote for a businessman that had filed for bankruptcy many times, borrowed many hundreds of millions, even billions of dollars only to keep multiple failing businesses in operation, conned students out of hundreds of millions of dollars, and has a history of business dealings with Mafia personalities, both foreign & domestic, as their POTUS.
That would seem to imply that voters that voted for Trump may have been desperate & misguided, at best.

You claim HRC was a criminal defense attorney yet the main bulk of her legal work over many years involved being a champion for children's issues such as brain development, child abuse, provided free legal advice for poor Americans, worked with child custody cases, worked for the Children's Defense Fund, worked with the committee that was responsible for former POTUS Nixon's eventual resignation, was a criminal law professor, worked with patent infringement, intellectual property law, and was cases pro bono for children. Within the context of her legal career HRC he did very little work as a defense attorney as you state, "for criminals."
What this implies is that you are (also) at a minimum misinformed, extremely disingenuous, or at worst just lying.

Your statement, "Hillary would better serve the scam artists and the parasites" is a much better representation of our current POTUS, Trump; just insert Trump in place of Hillary.
But then I understand that Donald is feeding folks like you from the trough of "fake news."

during the campaign Trump himself spoke more lies, was more abrasive/disrespectful/mean/arrogant/misinformed/bellicose/belligerent/a plain straight up asshole, than all other candidates combined, AND he STILL IS.

It is pretty obvious that Americans wanted an asshole in the White House; well, they got one. A VERY big one.

You sit here and lie to the whole DP forum; nice try .................

Just because under half of small businesses don't plan on hiring or giving raises does not mean that things won't improve. Economic growth has occurred and will be hard for the MSM to ignore.

But the argument for the tax cut was that it the money would be invested in salary increases and additional hiring, which the link shows is untrue.

What's your point, again?

Umm, you are reading it wrong. It is not about where the majority of debt is. It is about where the majority of debt under collections is

IOW, it is about where stupid and irresponsible people who borrowed money they cannot afford to pay back live

Getting the point yet?

Are you falling behind on your mortgage payments?

If not, maybe you should actually read, and hopefully comprehend, what the article is about

Hint: it is not about debt

Good to see someone in the thread is paying attention; you are to be commended .............

Like all those stupid people who bought mortgages that eventually collapsed the worlds economy? Those people were stupid, too, right?

I didn't respond to an article. I responded to the thread. The thread is about debt.

Many of them were

Too many Americans are financially illiterate. For example, some cannot tell the difference between debt, and debt under collections

No, the thread is not about debt. Way to show how well you comprehended.

The thread is about the correlation between people with debt UNDER COLLECTION and Trump voters

From the op

Interesting to see that US states with the highest levels of personal debt in collections are pretty much the very same states that voted for Trump in the 2016 election

Read the op again. Slowly
