Sky news cameraman shot dead. Yet again showing how dangerous their jobs are and the sacrifices they make everyday to bring us the news.

Yep, the " Arab Spring ".

We had a friend over there once, who kept the Muslim Extremist in Check, and who was also a partner in our fight against Islamic Terrorist.

Now, Obama laments the rising violence and destabilization of a Country that was once considered an Ally to the US.

And it's only because he knows the situation is to far gone for him to take credit for it.

It seems that much of the region is seemingly in emergency mode most of the time these days. As much as I hate to say it, maybe they were better off with dictators. At least it wasn't keeping the whole freaking world in a state of unease.

Nothing to see here folks. This is not a coup. There was not an unjust declaration of power by the military ending democracy in Egypt. Keep sending aid.

While I dont approve of kicking out a democratically elected government per say, what the Brotherhood was doing was as undemocratic as it gets. Not only did they rail-road a non secular constitution through, but they basically introduced even more nepotism into the system. I fully support the military on getting rid of the previous government and I suspect that the first to shoot were in fact the Brotherhood supporters and their terrorist backers. Why do peaceful protesters have to put up massive barricades and have automatic weapons? Why do they have women and children in those camps and them saying that they wanted to assure that their children had a place in paradise?

No this is all the Brotherhoods fault pure and simple. They created the problem, and have reacted badly with violence.

There was a reason George Washington said we should mind our own business.....

Giving weapons and massive financial aid to the Egyptian military is hardly minding our own business. ;)

That's like saying Saddam was a friend because he kept his people in check. Sorry, but that place is screwed up regardless of who is in charge.

Agreed. I don't know when the U.S. will learn that the quick "friends" you make now could be our enemies in a decade or sooner. We shouldn't be selling arms or weapons to these places.

Really ??

I suppose I should expect a response like that from you.

In the interest of ourf National Security and the Security of our long time ally, Israel AND in the interest of the ENTIRE AREA !!!! .....there should be some Consideration to the arbitrary removal of a dictator who has for decades kept his region in a relative state of peace.

Obama and his thug ilk he drug in with him are either so incompetent when it comes to Foreign Policy they didn't realize the stabilizing effect that Mubarek had on his Country and on the Region, OR they want as many radical Islamic theocracies surrounding Israel as possible.

I vote for a little bit of BOTH.

And your statment ? What is it with you Libs and your arbitrary Comparisons on the Fly.

Are you guys just too lazy to offer up any specific consideration ?

The key word in your whole little rant is "DICTATOR". I thought you were for peace and freedom? Oh wait, you're not. Your fascist self is evident of that.

How does the overthrowing of an octogenarian dictator become Obama's fault? ODS is just as bad, if not worse than, BDS ever was.

SEE ??!!

Unreal. Your kneejerk response to the keyword " DICTATOR " is noted.

Your'e being NAIVE.....and the " Fascist" comment is just hillarious. It's Internet Debate 101. You'll be calling me a NAZI in no time.

This Nations ME priority SHOULD be the Safety of our Nation and the Safety of Israel. Above all and if that means supporting a " DICTATOR" who's been a Ally to the US and who also happens to keep the Islamo-Nuts in check FOR YEARS then so be it.

It would make sense that a hard left Jr Senator with ZERO experience would come in with your ideology in mind. A simplistic view of the world and of the ME.

Obama's ME policy is this broad brush approach without any consideration to the consequences, and he actually tried to take credit for it...LOL !!

Remember the US sychophant reporters from CNN in Tahrir Square trying to get "Thank You Obama" sound bites from the protestors ?? Lol..

What a dolt. Presidents before him knew the value of assistance to leaders and dictators IF it kept the area stable and Mubarek did just that.

The current unrest speaks for itself so I really don't have to argue the point. Notice the whole " Arab Spring thanks to Obama's Foriegn Policy Genius " False Narrative is long gone ?

Lol...." fascist"

US foreign policy assistance has kept Mubarek in place for years and for Good reason.

Your'e not seriously going to play the " Coincidence " angle are you ?

The current unrest and destabilizztion of the entire region with the rise of fundamental islamic groups is proof enough.

C'mon, Mubarek or the Muslim Brotherhood. Have you read their charter ? Their stance on Israel ?

:prof Destabilizing the region was why we went into Iraq.

Mubarak was going to die fairly soon. Dictatorships end with the death of the dictator. What do you think would have happened when he died?

It is a bit knee jerk to claim prior to the Arab Spring terrorists were held in check when the Gaza crowd got their weapons through very well known smuggler tunnels from Egypt.

It would appear the people of Egypt are throwing out the Muslim Brotherhood for overstepping the boundaries of democracy. I'd say that's a good thang.

Egypt was being bribed big time to keep their standing army at peace but it never the less turned a blind eye to terrorists smuggling arms, and money into Gaza.

We tried the support your local dictator thing with Iran, I do believe most open minded folks say our refusal to distance ourselves from the vicious crackdown of the secret police in Iran before the fall of the Shah got a radical theocracy installed.

It does cause me pause to see those who would speak for a dictator in Egypt as someone who prevented religious fanatics totally ignore the dictator who supports and how's nation is the leading exporter of radical religious terrorists from the region.

Most of the 9-11 hijackers came form which ME country?
Wahhabi home is in which country?
Osama been hiding came from which nation?

No it wasn't. Saddam Hussien gassed over 100 thousand Iraq Kurds, he had WMDs and both Democrats and Republicans publicly threatened force if his WMD programs continued.

Clinton himself in 1998 threatened force and isn't Mubarek STILL ALIVE ?

When did he die ?

And just because he dies doesn't mean he hasn't named a successor. A succesor who would of hopefully maintained the same type of relationship with the US.

Dictators dieing doesn't justify the arbitrary and foolish policy decisions that have now turned that Nation into a war zone.

Obama's probabaly kicking himself for his stupidity......oh wait, he's a full on narcisist.

Nvmnd, he's already done the mental gymanastics needed to justify it down into a " success "....just as long as no one mentions it.

In the 80's.

he had WMDs and both Democrats and Republicans publicly threatened force if his WMD programs continued.

Those programs had stopped. The guise was the war on terror, but the goal was to destabilize Iran and other malcontents in teh region.

Clinton himself in 1998 threatened force and isn't Mubarek STILL ALIVE ?

According to reports, barely. But what difference do a couple of years make?

And just because he dies doesn't mean he hasn't named a successor. A succesor who would of hopefully maintained the same type of relationship with the US.

Wish in one hand **** in the other, see what fills up faster.

So freedom and democracy should be denied to the people of Egypt because the dictator was our ally??

Doesn't the latter undermine the former?

To a degree sure, but we made a commitment not to mention the House Resolution Bill thats essentially a contractual obligation to defend them.

We have a commitment to Taiwan and South Korea and when has the threat of supporting our Allies ever intimidated us to change our commitments ?

I think Obama's ME policy is moré of a threat to Israel than Iran's Nuclear Weapon Program and I'm not chalking it up to his inexperience.

The Egyptian uprising had nothing to do with Obama. Are you saying that Obama should have provided weapons to Mubarak in order to crush the Egyptian public who were demonstrating?
