Sound of Freedom movie - indicator of a seismic shift?

I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy," "He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it - Jeffrey enjoys his social life." Donald Trump 2002.

It is even said that he likes beautiful women......

Trump didn't know that?

Obviously...............................Trump didn't know him that well. :ROFLMAO:

It's not the same with what's described about Clinton and Epstein.

Ghislaine Maxwell Confirms Bill Clinton Was on Jeffrey Epstein's Plane in Unsealed Documents

In Giuffre's own deposition, she claimed to have seen Clinton with two young girls and heard Epstein say the former President owed him favors.

Here is a good article about why this sort of movie, when put out with info that they tell everyone is real facts, real statistics, while either not being true or being misleading, out of context, can be so damaging to society as well as the real efforts by experts to combat human trafficking and child sex trafficking.

To be fair to MAGAts Taken isn't a very real representation of sex trafficking operations either and people with particular sets of skills aren't torturing people off the streets of Europe to rescue their daughters from them. It's a movie. Try not to faint over it.

Taken though doesn't sell itself as real or giving people real advice on how to potentially help stop child trafficking. I also didn't see Liam Neeson doing interviews where he talks about conspiracy theories surrounding child trafficking or anything else.

The film tripled its budget in one week, so it's a financial success. Religious themes don't interest me, though. This weekend is Barbie and Oppenheimer, so it has some stiff competition.

Maybe it's doing that somewhere else but I just watched the trailer in the OP and it doesn't seem much different than any Hollywood liberal holding hands across the world type of performative displays of empathy.

What conspiracy theory are you talking about?
You're saying human trafficking by some elite, isn't really happening?
There isn't any attempt at cover-up?

The Whistleblower (2010 biography)
A drama based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex trafficking scandal.

I’m talking about Qanon, which actively spreads misinformation about human trafficking and makes the task of fighting it that much harder.

There have been several examples of what I'm talking about here, in this thread.

And much of the success is due mainly to people, rightwing organizations buying and then giving away free tickets to see it.

There was already one guy on twitter stating that 9/10 of tantrums in a store are just that but that other 1/10 is likely to be child traffickers trying to kidnap a child. He claims to have gotten this info from the movie or because of it.

There is a huge issue with stating this sort of ridiculous, exaggerated claim. It is fearmongering and not even close to true. Less than 300 children (not considering teens) are kidnapped by strangers in the US each year. And many of those are lured in by tricks, but it really isn't for child sex trafficking, not most of it. Not that being a child molester or serial killer or simply some crazy person who wants to raise a child of your own so you'll steal someone else's is better, but it is still different than what is being portrayed in this movie. And we also know that fearmongering leads to people who do stupid, crazy things.

The guy above has stated he felt a good parent would be happier to be held at gunpoint, and simply show evidence their child is theirs, than to have them kidnapped into child sex slavery.

I didn't say it meant child trafficking isn't important.

I asked.........Would exaggerating his rescue operations makes the evil of human trafficking any less?

Way to ignore the evidence of exaggeration you asked for - you're welcome - and try to make a phony argument about what you said. That is the meaning of what you said. Here is more of what you said:

"Do you deny that child trafficking is just an exagerration?" "That they won't try to discredit the reality of human trafficking by simply relegating it to just another "conspiracy theory by Qanon?""

Thanks for posting @tosca1

I do not go to the movies but I hope this is released to a streaming service in the coming months.
Child trafficing is horrific and I hope the trafficing done right in this country is exposed like this.

I do want to see this. Heck even the trailer brought tears to my eyes

Since I have not seen it; cannot offer an informed opinion about it.

'Sound of Freedom' is one of 2023's unlikely success stories

im Caviezel played a driving role in getting 'Sound of Freedom' to be made, and the film has become one of the summer's unlikely success stories, despite some of the rather troubling content within it.

'Sound of Freedom' is a move which centers on the theme of faith and child sex trafficking, and many were stunned to discover that it actually grossed an excellent $40 million in its opening week in theatres.

It premiered on Tuesday, with the Independence Day holiday crowd bringing in around $14.2 million, and then a further $18.2 million arrived in the days between Friday and Sunday once weekend revelers descended on cinemas.

'Sound of Freedom' now sits third on domestic box office charts in the United States of America, despite the fact the themes discussed in the film can be triggering.

Angel Studios are pleased with the movie's reception

Whilst many tend to turn away from movies based on faith, often through fear of it preaching something they don't believe in, Angel Studios have been pleasantly surprised by the success of this venture.

"As with our July 4th numbers, today's numbers exceed our expectations, and we're going to continue this momentum," Head of Theatrical distribution at Angel Studios, Brandon Purdie, explained.

"We're getting messages from all over the country telling us about packed theaters, sold-out theaters and spontaneous standing ovations for the film in numerous locations.

"Seeing this film has become a must, thanks to incredible word of mouth."

Another astro-turf movement faking up sold out movies. Big money is just buying seats just to claim they sold out and fake up a movement that doesn't exist at all.

The right is very methodically tying Democrats, (starting specifically with Hillary) cannibalism to pedophilia and child sex trafficking.
Once the right has convinced its base of Christo-fascist monsters that the two are inextricably linked, they can justify literally any atrocity.
Pedophiles can be dragged out into the street and burned alive. And why not? They rape children and drink their blood. There is no evil worse than someone who rapes, murders, and eats children, right?
No due process. No court of law. Just vigilante justice and "God's will."

The Sound of Freedom is pure BLOOD LIBEL.

I have to take it down.
It's dubious source.

I've never even heard of the movie until I stumbled upon articles/youtube about it.
Apparently - it's a surprise hit!

Summer at the movies is a time for big-budget blockbusters, but this year an independent drama with religious undertones is both competing with the likes of Indiana Jones and causing a political stir.
Sound of Freedom tells the story of a government agent who busts a child sexual abuse ring operating in Colombia.

"It's not 'paranoid' or 'QAnon adjacent' to bring much-needed attention to horrors that are all too real," wrote the conservative National Review.

Of course, it's not a conspiracy theory!
Remember Epstein? The controversial sex-ring in which Prince Andrew has also been accused?

These things are happening!

Sound of Freedom had a long and somewhat tortured path to US movie theatres.
Shot in 2018, it was bought by 21st Century Fox but shelved when that studio was bought by Disney, before being acquired by Angel - which is based not in Hollywood but Utah.

The company said 7,000 investors stumped up a total of $5m (£3.8m) earlier this year to market Sound of Freedom through social media posts and conventional advertising.
And previous projects have created a pool of around 100,000 movie fans - Mr Harmon says most of them have a "faith leaning" - who spread word of the film.

In total Sound of Freedom has already made $40m compared to a budget of $14.5m.

The marketing material played
heavily on concerns about real-world child trafficking. Mel Gibson endorsed the movie, and Caviezel shot a promotional clip in which he repeated a line from the film urging people to watch it:
"You can send the message that God's children are not for sale."
