So GOP.Why the love affair with business?

I am not saying you are wrong but every time someone tries to hold business accountable for their sins the right goes to bat for them just like during the BP oil spill. The GOP tried everything in the book to minimize the punishment they deserved.
I think at least some of this perception has to do with what you think of when you hear the term "big business". Some people hear this term and immediately think of "Koch Brothers" or "IBM" or "International Multifoods". When I hear big business, my mind goes to "Goldman Sachs", "AIG", and "JP Morgan". The first examples, I would agree seem to be better represented by the GOP. The second group? Not so much...

As long as the industrial revolution the GOP has been lap dogs for the rich and business and against anythig that impowers workers and I want to know why when those same institutions are responsible for the most part of this great recession. I say take them to the cleaners for outsourcing, laying off while making record profits. When will the right wing stand up for the common worker? Don't hold your breath.

We believe in strong property laws. A business is owned by the owner, not by the worker. The worker is hired on a mutually beneficial contract to do the bidding of the owner. The worker doesn't own the business, therefore doesn't have a right to be calling the shots. Capital costs money, and everyone has some variable amount of money, more or less. If you want to progress economically, you need an economy with high demand for capital. Undermining the rights of the ownership of capital is antithetical to that goal.

By what. Calling out backward thinking Jesus freaks who are members of the flat Earth society. Mormonism is a cult. Christianity has been taken over by right wing zealots and is ruining the word of Christ. There was a reason Joseph Smith was hung. He was crazy as a loon. I don't support hanging anybody but there was a reason. Writing your own bible takes alot of balls.

Even Jesus freaks are quite levelheaded compared to you. Stoners are the backwards ones.

hahahah, Republican and Democratic politicians in Washington were largely responsible for this great recession. And business is the source of jobs, so why should anyone be anti-business?

Sorry, but the Dems are just as responsible as the GOP. Both sides are in the pockets of big business. To think otherwise is to deny reality.

BWAHAHAHAJAJAJA....

Look it was so funny I warped into German.

I LOVE watching left wingers marginalize themselves by staying within the confines of their talking points and false narratives.

His post is the cardinal copy of the DNCs how to think guidelines for all Democrats.

The only Political Group currently " sticking it to the workers" is the Democrats by passing and then implimenting ObamaCare.

It's virtually destroyed the 40 hour work week and it's washed away legitimate Union victories in record time.

His post is a great example of the dangers and the effects of a political party appealing to the lowest common denominator, the voter who's poorly educated and poorly reared.

No other President has done more damage to the working man and women than Obama. His policies have killed economic growth and instilled a large amount of distrust in our Government.

The Democrats ? How one Earth could you claim you represent the rights of the American Worker when your'e currently trying to flood the labor market with Millions of low skilled, low educated illegal aliens ?

Both sides are in the pockets of business. Drop the blinders if you want a real discussion.

Out of curiosity, what will the lack of business do to enhance your life?

Hint: Detroit has a lack of business.

This attitude of defending business even if they are wrong is what I am talking about my friend.

Based on your post I would say you are blinded by partisan bias and have yet to really understand any of the real issues. It's really bizarre because you appear to blindly lash out against some hypocritical things like: 1. A political party supports its base. 2. Common workers are somehow more deserving of government protection than corporate workers (or anyone for that matter!). 3. Profit, outsourcing, layoffs, that these have anything to do with government regulation and purpose, etc.

When will Democrats stand up for economic liberty?

What it really boils down to IMO is when will Americans wake up and adopt a much more libertarian-esque ideology that drives changes that make sense? Big business abusing government is JUST as bad as unions abusing government, or the general populace, or a small minority, or a rich minority, it's all bad.

Er, uh, Vern. Is there any way I can get you to quit telling me what my politics are? I despise the GOP at least as much as I do the democraps.

Is it possible to discuss anything without you using the terms "narrative" or "meme"? I don't think that Obama is an "out of control anti business socialist bent on destroying America (where he wasn't born)" ? I voted for him. He has disappointed me by having such retracted testicles and poor management skills.

Please show me how he hasn't been as cozy with the megabuck folks as GW Bush was. Are the poor getting richer? Are the rich getting poorer? Almost 5 years now.....

er uh speckle, doesn't that contradict the lying republican narrative that Obama is an "out of control anti business socialist bent on destroying America (where he wasn't born)" ? seems like your narratives are contradicting each other. Oh that's right, to conservatives each thread is its own universe. In a thread about Obamacare or the economy he's an "out of control anti business socialist bent on destroying America (where he wasn't born)". In this thread he's just another "pro business anti average American worker lap dog of big business".

I think we already had this conversation. And sorry I don't believe you voted for him. and guess what? I don't have to.

That's true. You don't have to. Me either. Too bad we can't have an intelligent conversation but apparently your expectation is that if I don't follow the Democrap path 100%, I must be a rotten, stinking, conservative, neo-con, business lap-dog republican.

Have a nice life.
go on please.webp

And what of those like you who attack business even when it is right?

excellent use of hyperbole speckle. You are one of the more intelligent cons but just like all the others, you could look at a graph and see only what you want to see. And again, your 'narrative' contradicts all the silly con 'narratives' that "Obama is an "out of control anti business socialist bent on destroying America (where he wasn't born)" .
did you ever try to correct those silly narratives with your 'opinion' that he was in bed with business?

Why don't you go to my posting history and see how many times I've had the reverse of this argument because I defended or praised Obama? Then I get dumped on for being a Liberal!

Really, I just look at one thing at a time. You can believe me or not. I'm a staunch defender of gay rights including SSM. I've been a civil rights activist since my teens. I'm an advocate of higher taxes on the ultra-wealthy. I'm pro-immigration but not pro-amnesty.

Not for one moment do I believe or support the claim "Obama is an "out of control anti business socialist bent on destroying America (where he wasn't born)". Not for one moment do I believe Obama wishes harm to his country (America, not Kenya:roll:)). What I do believe after 5 years is that Obama is ineffective and a piss-poor manager. That doesn't mean he has no accomplishments or that he should be impeached. It doesn't excuse his failure to prosecute the bankers who raped us and it does mean I'm furious that he hired the very same people as GW Bush to manage the economy.

In short, I'm an individual. I refuse to be categorized or follow any one platform. This means both "Liberals" and "Conservatives" are going to be distressed by my opinions at different times on different issues.

Mormons are a cult? OK so what does that "cult" promote

then lets compare it to say the hedonistic cult of far lefties who daily use marijuana as their sacred herb.

so who do you think wrote the other bibles? Loons from the Pond of the Holy water? Aliens from outer space (a la Erich von Daniken?) wealth hungry science fiction writers?

You're attributing far more sophistication to him than there is any evidence to support. He cares about one cause, and one cause only—drugs. He has as much as admitted that his positions on every other issue are based on kissing the asses of those who thinks most likely to be his allies in the cause to legalize drug abuse. He perceives those who are anti-business as being most likely to support drug abuse, so that's the side he takes.

two things. i'm not looking for your life story and I’m not calling you a con (in that post anyway). I simply asked if you ever felt the need to post to people who claim President Obama is an out of control socialist that he’s really in bed with big business? its actually a yes or no question.

Don’t get me wrong, I do believe you are a conservative so I’m ignoring your constant pleas that you are not. I simply asked a question.

where do you get the silly idea Speckle is a conservative?

He was able to look at a graph clearly showing the Bush Mortgage Bubble starting in 2004 and say it started in 1999. Oh he had his folksy anecdotal story to explain his belief but I wasn't looking for his folky anecdotal story. I was asking based on the graphs, when did it look like the "dramatic" rise in prices started. He’s yet to answer the question. Oh and he did the ole “argue something I didn’t post” routine also. Its another classic conservative dodge. But again, his affliations were not the point of my post.

Also, I asked how “Obamacare” fit into his narrative that the “goodie basket for business is as full as ever” and he responded to a post he had already responded to ( in post 21 he responded to my post 20. In 22 I asked him about Obamacare. in post 40 he responded to 20 again) . I only find cons do that. It allows them to pretend they are responding to the thread while ignoring a particular post. But again, why is everybody concerned about my opinion. People have no problem ignoring the facts I post. Seems like it would be a piece of cake to ignore my opinion of Speckle.

Hey turtle, you seem like a smart guy. can you look at some graphs and tell me what and when looks like a bubble to you.

mmmm, I wonder what the rest of the bubble states look like
